Calif continues to suffer harsh economy and I don't see any better news anywhere in the state.

A friend said this,

"The state gobblement just reached in and grabbed 10% of your paycheck if you still have a job. That's 10% less money you will have to buy christmas presents. That's sure a stimulus for the economy, isn't it?? hah. And arnold tells you that you will get it all back in April of next year - that's it's just a loan. hah! Remember the IOU's last year??? Can you say REPLAY??? Now watch closely. Arnold will tell you - 'either agree to new taxes or we can't give you your money back!"

Now I really want to move out of California. This economy up n down cycle is not healthy!

This was clarified in another thread, it's a 10% increase in withholding, not 10% of net or gross...

Cal. cracks me up. Yopu have dozens of learned folks bidding on distressed propertties.

Once they realize that they have overbid, the same dummies will be asking the Gov. for a bailout.

Ben, we Mexifornians are'nt ALL stupid! The smart folks rent! And are still waiting for the bottom to hit.

Ahhhnold Gruppenfuhrer, Governor Pretender, as part of his budget massacre bill has already sworn that he will RAID COUNTY COFFERS or prop. tax revenues to balance the budget! This has happened before!

Courts are levying massive fines to folks now, and double-billing guys who had already paid back child support & alimony! Even if you show all your receipts to the judge. They will say; "Well, its not in the computer", so off to jail you go. Or suspend your drivers license for a year! This just happened to my best bud. His daughter is 21, by the way.One judge gives you a year, if you are one payment late!

Its getting to be a FASCIST STATE, with Govt screwing us for every last sheckle they can!
In this state, the welfare queens rule the courts, and men lose everything they ever had.And lets not even mention enviro whackos......ok?

This is why in Lake Tahoe the City is in both NV and CA, guess which area sell for more? Maybe the one with lower taxes... Homes on the NV side are like $100k+ more, easy!

Why would people stay there?...If you live like a prince(or less) there, you could live like a King almost anywhere else, instant huge payraise just for moving...I've been there many times, it's nice and has it's pluss but it aint all that to spend tens of thousands more a year to be there...IMHO

You know California has a problem when their candidates for Governor include The Terminator and Gary Coleman. Is anyone really surprised by the outcome? I am surprised that a legitimate candidate has not stepped forward. Shouldn't the election for Gov. becoming up soon? Who will be on the ballot this time around? California has been in shambles for a long time. This big budget deficit has been brewing for awhile. Raising property taxes is not the answer. That could force more people out of their homes if they can't foot the bill. The best solution in my opinion is lower property taxes to affordable levels and let these vacant homes become occupied so they can generate more tax revenue. Also, isn't the bank still responsible for paying the property taxes? Why would there be such a big drop in revenue from property taxes if the banks are required to pay the taxes? There is no easy solution, but to cut Gov't spending is a start... you know, spend less then what you bring in.

Didn't San Francisco's mayor first announced that he was running for governor ... and I believe later withdrew? I believe that eBay's CEO also announced that she may run for Gov of CA. Those are the only two that I am aware of.
