| I'm betting this healthcare bill gets squished like the steaming pile of dogshiit that it is. Should we start a pool? |

Same here. I think it has a small chance of passing Congress, but gets stepped on in the Senate. Of course what do you expect from a bunch of morons willing to follow Pefloozie? |

One thing 100% sure is the only bipartisanship you will see tonight will be in opposition to the bill...
As the libs here said about Snowe, some Dems will have the balls to stand on principle tonight...I wouldn't say that about they or Snowe, but others here were so quick to point out Snowe's balls for standing in opposition of her party, lets see if they say the same about the Dems tonight... |

I was right about this 39 Dems(and 1 rep) had balls, using ML and CMGs words to stand up for what's right, no Kudo's to those folks or do only Reps have ball?... |

They might, but I can guarantee it won't look anything like the version that Congress just passed. Actually I really hope they do pass a decent healthcare reform bill. The problem is that there currently isn't a decent bill to vote on! |

Has anyone proposed a bill that would make your healthcare bill a proportion of your gross salary , sort of like a flat tax and just cap it at $250,000 , maybe 3% ? |

Wait for the decent one when the Reps are back in power. Think you'll get it then?

You better recalculate because 3% won't even come close, considering the average family brings in less than 50K. Who do you think might be picking up the tab for the rest? |

You and I will be nothing but dirt by the time the Republicans ever get their heads out of their azzes and do the right thing. Keep wishing and hoping.

Nope, because we don't need one...This was Obama's crap, not something the people asked for...But now that it's topical, they at least realize you don't replace a car for a bad tire, Obama wants a new car which is why this should fail...
It's so bad Nancy and Obama had to buy/sway/threaten the last few votes, if it was such a good plan it would have won by a 100 vote margin months ago but somehow you still think anything like that is being done in the best interest of the country?...Can you explain that for us sane folks?...
On a side note, I think Reid is becoming a Rep operative as NV is not liking this health care bill and you know their personal elections take precedence...I think he's hoping the CBO gives him his way out first, if not, I'm sure he'll get creative...Viva Le Saboteur! |

| It appears Lieberman is not going to vote in favor of the healthcare bill. Looks like they might fall just short of the required votes. I am willing to place a bet that there will be some amendments to the bill that will require some backing of republicans. The democrats have to be willing to negotiate and put some measures that reps want, such as interstate commerce, tort reform, etc. If they can make this so that there really is competition and a public option, not mandate, then it could pass. But I doubt the dems are smart enough to get it done. |

This bill loses Lieberman, Snow and many others who all said they will not vote for any bill with a Public Option.

I would rather see the bill die completely rather than include any more Republican amendments. My reason is that no Republican will break Rank and support the final bill anyway so screw them I say.
That lone Republican who voted for the House bill will not be re-elected as a Republican and he will be kicked in the nuts by the party between now and re-election time in 2012. He knew that he is a lame duck and that likely freed him to vote for the bill.
Lieberman is also a lame duck so he will do whatever he can to keep diicking the Dems for abandoning him in his last re-election bid in Connecticut. He will not be re-elected in 2012 and he know it. I think he'll switch to the Republican party at that time and try to get re-elected by Republicans as they did voted for him in droves in 2006.

| Lieberman will win anytime he runs in CT. He has a great story to tell about how he is not a lemming for either party. I'll bet you right now he wins if he runs no matter what party letter is beside his name. |

The people of CT will not return that turncoat to the Senate. One of his assistants told a friend of mine that his website is being bombarded with nasty emails and his office phone is overwhelmed with calls from pizzed off constituents. It just won't happen. Between now and 2012, he will be reduced to a backbencher in the Senate.

Disagree, he doesn't see the world like you, he actually voted the way the majority of his constituents wanted him too regardless of his party...At least he has the integrity to vote his people's will, which may be his bain as a politician, but he was probably one of the few honest people on either side of this vote...Your comment shows how pathetic the 2 party system you love is... |
