| Love ya!!...for being instrumental in fracturing the GOP party, you were right on Que! Bill Owens a Dem., won the special election which will be greatly appreciated and help further President Obama's agenda. It's not everyday that you pick-up a Dem seat in upstate New York 23 (district). How brilliant of President Obama's decision to appoint a Repub. Congressman to a Pentagon post. And with the assistance of Palin gained yet another House seat for the Dems. Therefore, while you dumb azzs gloat over the VA & NJ statewide victories. I'm sure that the outcome was well received by the Obama admin. |

If you're a Dem, I agree, if you're a Rep, you better recognize the wakeup call...If you're neither it was great to see someone shake it up and get close...A new R or D won't change anything, surely not the majority the house holds, it was a message that was heard around the country so America wins!...And the Dems if you're a Dem...
I'd like to see someone shake up the Dem party as well, both parties are way left of their 'norm'...
And those that think we're stuck in the 2 party system can gloat over this, those that would like to see some options break the ice can also gloat, win win... |

You are so good at spin that you could probably get the country to see the Afghanistan war as a celebration. Good try.

| cspat and craig.....have you yet to realize that neither GOP or Dem is the way to go? Both are corrupt beyond belief and neither will help restore this country to greatness. The GOP/Dem division is what's working FOR both parties and keeping them around. Get over the divide, and start focusing on the issues at hand and who's actually trying to solve them. |

I love the stupidity of partisanship.
Cspat,
Were you aware that the 23rd is trending Democrat. It voted for Obama with a 52% majority. The two counties which Democrats targeted their ground troops, Clinton and St. Lawrence, have average median incomes under the National average (dependency on Government is a backbone of Democrat support)and voted for Obama by 20% margins in '08.
Now, for the dirty little secret. The Republican establishment, the people that are friends with and share similar ideologies with the Democrat establishment, are silently happy this morning. Better to keep the district under the game of "two party control" then to have a victory by a non-status quo candidate.
You, like many others, are so sold on the game of the two party system you will never understand.
But then again, if the average voter is that gullible, they deserve to be controlled by the establishment. For, they may indeed be to naive possibly function in life without mommy or daddy Government telling them how to think, how to eat, how to sleep and how to function. |

Owens is a self proclaimed Reagan Democrat. You really need to check your meds, he will not be helping OZbama further anything! When Democrats can't keep the govenors office in 2 heavily Democratic states with extremely heavy support at taxpayer expense from OZbama and the Whitehouse, even someone as ignorant as you should be able to read the writing on the wall. IT'S OVER FOR YOUR BOY... DEAL WITH IT LOSER! |

Afghan celebration - Afghans shoot guns in air Afghan war - Afghans shoot guns in air
Since it's hard to distinguish, that may not be too tough a sell! |

I think Palin is worthless and the Republicans are not my party. I do however think that they are a hell of a lot better than the Dumbocrats, that are too stupid to understand the willingness of the taxpayer to fund their ill concieved plans. |

NY-23 was probably the biggest victory conservatives had yesterday. Bigger than NJ and VA. It sent a loud and clear message to a party destroyed by Bush and Rove by moving it left, that RINOS will not be tolerated. Hopefully days are numbered for the McCains, Snowes and Grahams of the GOP.
Michelle Malkin says it quite well...
quote: Hoffman may have lost narrowly, but NY-23 is a much broader victory for conservatives who believe the Republican Party should stand for core limited government principles. Scozzafava, who was endorsed by far Left blogger Markos Moulitsas Zuniga and backed by Planned Parenthood, the National Education Association, and card-check-promoting trade unions, was denied the congressional seat because movement conservatives refused to support Arlen Specter in a skirt. This is a victory of principle.
Better a donkey in office that acts like a donkey than a donkey in elephant’s clothing making a complete ass of the GOP.
Moreover, NY-23 is a victory for conservatives who refuse to be marginalized in the public square by either the unhinged left or the establishment right. A humble accountant from upstate New York exposed the hypocrisy of GOP leaders trying to solicit funds from conservatives by lambasting Pelosi and the Dems’ support for high taxes, Big Labor, and bigger government — while using conservatives’ money to subsidize a high-taxing, Big Labor-pandering, bigger government radical. The repercussions will be felt well beyond NY-23’s borders. Conservatives’ disgust with the status quo has been heard and felt. They have been silent too long. They will be silent no more.
NY-23 wasn't a win for the GOP and definitely not one for the Dems. It was a victory for conservatism and it's principles. |

I'm happy for Sarah Palin. Revenge is so sweet that I can't begrudge it. To hell with the RINOs.
It's just a shame that we don't have anyone to sabotage the Democrats yet. Maybe they'll take Spooky Jindal away? He's a guaranteed loss. |

Much better shape, CMG?
The Stimulus is a FAIL, no one is saying it worked. The far left is calling for MORE (HA).
Health care is a joke, nothing serious will pass.
Cap and Trade is not going to happen this year.
2010 is on and EVERYONE says the Dems are going to lose, it is just HOW BIG they lose.
Obama was in NJ 6 times and couldn't help them keep the Governorship. |

Everytime Obama speaks, he is hurting the Democratic Party. People are sick of seeing him on TV and hearing his voice. When is he going to get out of campaign mode and do ONE thing to help this country? Here is part of Rush Limbaugh's transcript from yesterday:
RUSH: Let's move on to New Jersey now. Obama has actually been in New Jersey many times. I think in the last 24, 48 hours he's been there, and he's making robocalls. In fact, you want to hear one? Obama's making robocalls for Corzine. I mean, he's on your TV, he's on the Internet, he's in magazines, he's on the radio. The last thing I would think you would want is for your phone to ring and the voice on the other end to be Obama. 'Cause, damn it, folks, he's everywhere. He won't leave us alone. If you get one of these Corzine robocalls from Obama, this is what you'll hear.
OBAMA: I want to apologize for disturbing you, but there's an important election this coming Tuesday. Last year we started the movement for change. Now we need to keep it going. That's why I'm asking you to get behind Governor Jon Corzine. Together we can fix our schools, improve health care, and turn around the economy so it works for all Americans. So please get out and vote on Tuesday and vote for my friend and your governor, Jon Corzine. Thanks for listening.
RUSH: I think it's pretty desperate for the president to be doing this, robocalls -- and that's just a rehash of his now meaningless campaign rhetoric from a year ago, 18 months ago: "Fix the schools, improve health care, turn around the economy so it works for all Americans," which means it works for none. (chuckles) "All" and "none" meaning the same thing here. So that's Obama and his robocall in New Jersey. One of his most trusted confidantes and campaign operatives, Obama's, took over the Corzine campaign a few months ago. Now, basically in looking at New Jersey you have to understand this: Corzine is a straw man for the Obama White House. That's how you have to look at it. He is a straw man for the Obama White House.
And if Corzine loses in New Jersey, which is among the bluest of blue states, the State-Controlled Media repeating the Obama talking points will do all it can to run interference for the White House. The damage control spin will be that the president was heroic in his efforts to save a hopeless candidate. "Corzine was surrounded by corruption. He destroyed New Jersey's economy. He was enormously unpopular. But the president decided to make a courageous stand and to try to save him. And despite Corzine losing, look how close the election became. But for Obama and his team, New Jersey would have been a wipeout, not a nail-biter. So New Jersey is actually an Obama win, even should Corzine lose."
This is how it will be portrayed: "Such a heroic effort! The man put everybody but himself first. He put Corzine first. He put his agenda first. He put the state of New Jersey first. But it was just too much to overcome, unpopularity, corruption, questionable friends, a rotten economy that Corzine destroyed as governor of New Jersey, and his Wall Street connections came back to hurt him." They'll come up with everything to say that Obama gave it everything he got. Now, if Corzine wins... We'll of course look at this in that way as well. If Corzine wins, the State-Controlled Media, following the White House spin, will report that Obama's personal popularity and the popularity of his socialist agenda won the day. The fact is, Corzine, if he does win, will likely win with less than 50% of the vote.
And the fact that he could not muster 50% of the vote in this heavily Democrat state will be completely ignored. His win by a plurality of the vote, not a majority, will be said to have been momentous, that it "shows that Obama is as strong as ever and that he still owns the blue states and states trending blue -- and those who defy him, including in his own party, such as Blue Dog Democrats, do so at their own peril." That will be the message if Corzine wins. Now, here's the truth. A year ago today Obama won in Virginia, the news reported his election there as historic and as a realignment. If the election results come anywhere close to what the polls predict recently, the Republicans are going to have a huge win today, and anything over 6% is a huge win. Now, I know this because when Obama won the presidency by 6% the media told us it was a huge win. So anything over six is big.
Virginia's outcome is going to be downplayed as much as possible, but it is very important. Because if Virginia were to go 6% in favor of the Democrats today that would have been a huge boost to Obama and the Democrats nationally. So to say when the opposite occurs, that it doesn't matter, is just nonsense. Virginia was key to the national realignment only 12 months ago today. Today we are told to ignore it. If Republicans can hold onto states like Virginia, then they can build from there and aggressively go after states that have too often been written off and ceded to the Democrats by a weak and squishy GOP. Now, the New York-23, that's a major turning point, which is why the establishment Republicans and their media promoters are downplaying it along with the Democrats. A moderate Republican held this seat for a lot of years. He was selected by Obama to serve in his administration because Obama believed he could take that seat and keep it Democratic. The race sized up exactly as the White House had hoped with the Democrat in the lead, and the Republican establishment bosses picking Scozzafava.

Conservatives lost what? A seat they weren't supposed to win anyway? At least not until very late in the race and that was far from a given. Conservatives fired a very big warning shot at the GOP, the once conservative party. The GOP will come to realize it's total insignificance without conservative support. They want support, they better be start being conservative. |
