That's awesome Darin! Blogs are the future. I have a question about the service. If a member uses some of the content written by others (like on the web sites) do the original authors still get a link like before?

Also, for anyone who starts a blog, remember that I have a huge Blog Roll Page of mortgage a real estate bloggers that I will list you on, no strings attached. I only ask that you blog steady for about three weeks before you ask me to add your blog. This way, I know you are committed to keeping it going.

In addition, I will trade links on my main blog lenderama.com with any blogger who links to me first. My blog is ranked pretty well, so you definitely benefit from trading links with me if you are a blogger.

Hey Todd, the content you use still works the same, everyone gets link backs on those posts. The content pages you select are like separate blog posts. So basically anything you blog yourself is free standing and not connected with the system at all.. which means anyone can basically blog about anything they want (hopefully mortgage related!).

I do have some other features which till take advantage of some of the more popular blog networks as well.. including the blog rolling.

I look forward to members creating their own unique blogs and gabbing about their local markets and services!

A mortgage blog is a way for loan officers to comment on mortgages, real estate, or even who won the state footbal championship. Blogs are written like a newspaper column. The writer is expected to give his perspective/opinion. Some exellent examples of mortgage/real estate blogs are

http://www.behindthemortgage.typepad.com/
http://matrix.millersamuel.com/
http://www.raincityguide.com/
http://philleto.blogspot.com/

My personal blog lenderama.com is a blog geared toward other mortgage brokers. I also blog for realtyblogging.com. My specific focus on that blog is to show other real estate and mortgage professionals how to get started in blogging. My posts can be found under Todd Carpenter in blogging for business.

What Darin has done, is make it very easy for Mortgage Pros to add their own news and opinions to their web site, without the need for a web designer to do it for you. By publishing always fresh content, you give readers a reason to frequent your site, even if they aren't necessarily looking for a mortgage.

Your welcome! Google Blog Search is very cool. I use the RSS feeds from the results for terms like "mortgage" to see what's new with other mortgage bloggers. The feed automaically updates with the latest posts. I will be including this in my update to my mortgage bookmarks tool soon.

I'm really digging the new blog feature. Darin, every time you add something new like that, it makes the small monthly fee worth it all by itself. I would pay $10 per month for any ONE of the services that are now offered through premium. Not that I am going to go out of my way to give you extra money - I am happy with my $10/month deal.

Real Simple Syndication is most cases now. Its a way to expose information in a machine readable structured file called an XML file.

Most any news service now offers their news in RSS format.
