I was at the office late last night and wanted to watch live streaming video of Monday Night Football while at my desk. So, I went to justin.tv to see if there was a good live streaming video of the game. The live streaming video was horrible, so I clicked on a different link in the chat box that was to take me to a different website to watch the game.

I clicked on the link, and the next thing you know my computer froze. My computer keeps attempting to restart by itself, but it is not working. The computer won't restart, and none of my files or programs are available. So, we tried to install the "E-Machine Recovery Disc," to see if he can save my files OR save the computer. Every time the disc is finished downloading it says, "The system is not fully installed. Please run setup again."

Any solutions? Thanks!

Two things... First, eMachines are famous for this... buy a real computer.

Until then, you can either take it to a computer tech who can attempt to access the hard drive and save your files or just reformat the hard drive. That option will wipe the drive clean and reinstall the original programs. It will, essentially, be new again... but it will still be an eMachine.

Well, it's not my computer. It is the one at the office. I have a Sony Vaio that has been great! I hope we can figure this out since I do have lots of valuable info I don't want to lose....

I loved my emachine when I had it. Had it for about 4 years and moved twice, the third move killed it, even though I put it back in it's original packaging to try to make it's move comfortable.
That will be 2 years ago Dec 15 (RIP my emachine) I still need to take it somewhere to get my hard drive. I really just want all the gobs of pictures that are on it.

I think you missed the part where he said it's not his computer. He could always show this thread to his boss and tell him what pos equipment they have. See how that works for ya Steve.

Well, we did a "repair install," then another version of Windows "parallel install," then the registry had to be fixed. Now everything is back to normal. Be careful with those sports links!
