Well, I just sat through Chad's webinar just to see if there would be anything new I hadn't heard of. For the most part, if you are new to internet lead generation you may benefit from the overview. However, if you are a bit seasoned and already have a ranking website then it will mostly be things you've already heard.
However, one thing that struck me as I was watching is how Chad says that he is offering you free training with NO product pitches. He goes on to reinforce that this is all "free" and that he is only doing it to help you...
That's where it ends. Fact is, he is making A LOT of money just by you following his "free" directions. Here's some evidence:
During the webinar he tells you to click to www.tinyurl.com/loproject
Throughout the second half of the webinar, he mentions that you'll find links to buy a hosting account and domain names and that the only way his training will work out is if you use those sources because if you use your own hosting/domain provider it will be a "nightmare".
First off, tinyurl.com is cloaking/hiding something in his original links. Why? I don't know for sure...but I can only guess.
Second, "Action Step #1" at the bottom of the page is the hosting source. Put your mouse over the link, do not click on it though. You can right click with your mouse, and "Copy Link Location" and then paste in a notepad file to get the true link.
This is the true link location that pops up:
http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=cuthere
It's an affiliate link to Hostgator.com. Chad Weber will get paid up to $125 per sale if you sign up! Notice the word affiliates in the link.
Furthermore, "Action Step #2" is to buy your domain name through GoDaddy. And guess what, he gives you a discount coupon code...and you know what? I'll bet that that is another affiliate code that pays him 20% of all sales!
I'll be sure as hell to bet that throughout his "Free Training" he will suggest more tools and whatnot with his affiliate links in there.
By the end of his training, if you buy everything through his links...you will already have made Chad alot of money. You didn't have to buy HIS product, but you bought through his links and he gets paid a commission - lots of commissions...
My problem with it!? Chad, you are not truly disclosing what is going on. What makes it even more troublesome is that you are playing the game of winning everyone's "Hearts and Minds" by saying you're the good guy doing it all for free, at no cost.
Then you are making money off of them without disclosing that you are in fact earning money. That's my problem with your webinar. While it is free to the attendee and they feel all good and warm inside about how great of a guy you are, you're still banking big time. If they knew, do you think it'd make a difference?
Now it makes sense why you have a telemarketer hounding me on a weekly basis...each person that attends is potentially worth at least $125. No, you're not scamming them out of money - just tricking them into earning you money. Next time you should just add a disclaimer at the bottom of your site in small print that you can't read and legal jargon that you can't understand at the very least.
Then give them the option of buying through your affiliate link or not. That way, if you make a lot of sales then you know for sure that you did a good job of delivering value and building trust. Wouldn't you agree?

Very interesting review! Let's start off with your supposed revelation and "exposing" of my "dirty secret." (By the way - For those reading this, this guy did NOT attend the 5 day training, he attended the PRE-TRAINING 20 minute webinar)
The refutation? That you're 100% wrong! See, if you had bothered to do a bit more searching before jumping onto a message board with this smearing post, you'd know that on my Get Started page, there exists this friendly disclaimer:
"Here’s the link you need to follow to secure your hosting – Click on the image to get your discount (I recommend the “Baby” hosting – It’s the same hosting I use and will be teaching from.) hosting plan setup. I do get a bonus when you use my link, so I’d appreciate it! (Hint-hint!)"
You can view the page here to see it exists:
http://loanofficermarketinglab.com/blog/getting-started/
Now let's take it one step further. If one were to view the VIDEO on my Get Started Now video found on the same blog I just linked you to, I also verbally tell those watching that I get a kickback from HostGator if they use my link.
So that proves you wrong twice my friend. Now let's address what your concern is over the TinyUrl link. I'm guessing you don't know quite as much about web marketing as you claim my friend, as you falsely claim that TinyUrl is a site used to cloak links.
That's not the case at all. TinyUrl makes a terrible cloaker. (For thsoe truly wanting to hide something - you use PAID programs for that, not a freebie link shortener)
Why is the link shortened? Because I give the link out over webinars, and the live link it points at is:
http://www.loanofficermarketinglab.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=66:loan-officer-project&catid=14
Compared to:
http://www.tinyurl.com/loproject
I'm sure you can see the difference and the logic of using a shortened link. But you're free to keep spouting your conspiracy theory here.
Finally, I find it a bit humorous that you jump onto a board to complain that I'd make money off of people getting free training! Ever heard of YSP? Spiffs? PR? lol
Funny thing is this - My first Loan Officer 5 day training round (Was not called the Project back then) We didn't require they use a particular hosting (And still let people in who use their own - But we push it because of what I'm about to tell you) - and it was a disaster. With 100 - 125 people on the line, each using DIFFERENT control panels, and DIFFERENT hosting, and most of them using Non-FTP access hosting, it took over 1.5 hours just to get everyone on the same page as to what button to push to get to their FTP, Cpanels, and Installers. (Most Mortgage web providers do NOT provide root access)
Do some research on your own, and you'll see that I am correct. Yell and complain all you want, but you can call up the major website providers for the mortgage industry, and see that I am correct.
(And one more thing - We do NOT recommend other products through the 5-day training. Had you actually gone through the training you'd know this. In fact, we don't even mention our nor other products during the training except for on Day #5, when people start asking "what do you do?" I do mention that loan officers should have an auto-responder though, and tell them GetResponse, and AWeber are great - But no, I'm not an affiliate and have no desire to be, as there are inherent limitations)
I tell all the participants up front EXACTLY what is going on. In fact, I'd imagine several would be happy to head over here and tell you what they learned. But for those who want the full story, here it is:
The Loan Officer Project is a 5 day training webinar. We teach loan officers how to build a website. In order to have a website, you must have a domain name, and a webhost, not a choice, you must have these things.
Over 5 days, we help loan officers build a website from scratch. They get free hands on instruction, and personalized help for 5 days, and they have to order a webhost account anyway. So the problem with us being paid when they order something they have to anyways? (Especially since it is DISCLOSED - contrary to your claims?) -
How many loan officers were happy to earn YSP without it being disclosed when they moved to be a banker? This is a $7.00 purchase here bud, and the loan officers are getting more training for FREE than most $1000+ programs.
Just ask the attendees! So there you go - You were wrong, and I'm sure I will not get an apology - But before you go out of your way in an effort to defame another genuine service provider, I suggest you do a bit more research first.
Not only is it just wrong what you're trying to do, but it's gotta be embarrassing for you as well. If you don't believe me, click on the links I provided, and watch the Getting Started Now landing page video to see it mentioned in the video that has been there since June.
For those who want to take part in the 5 days of free training, please visit: www.loanofficermarketinglab.com/loanofficerproject to register. :)

I went through Chad's free training and have nothing but positive things to say. I built a website geared to my keyword research in 5 days. Who else offers this service? Noone I could find. What did it cost? Nothing.
Hosting and domain registration are a given just as they were with your current website. (Which by the way has not been updated since Febuary 23rd for your rates)
Chad has been providing helpful information and now this free program for many years and your post is not backed by fact. |

Hey Chad,
I got to admit you sparked my curiosity. I just registered on your site. When is the next webinar before the full training? |

Hey there Chad (Great name by the way) -
The next training is this Friday at 11:30 CST. We have an excellent session scheduled, and even though it's only Pre-Training, we've set aside extra time for participants to grill us with Their most pressing questions.
See you there? Oh yea, and if you like it, come back here to this thread and set the record straight! (Joking) See you Friday.

Agreed...Chad has been an active member and contributor to this forum for many years. Who cares if he gets an affiliate payment? He should get that and also charge for people to attend the webinar. Do you get a domain name and hosting if you follow his instructions? YES! So where is this scam?
Sheesh! |

I am a fellow mortgage vendor with 0 affiliation with Chad other than he is an occasional guest contributor on our blog; although he hasn’t contributed anything in a few months… hint hint . I have sat in on Chad’s training and I think for a lot of LOs out there this is very very good content. Most people in this industry don’t have the wherewithal to put together a really good website, and he is teaching you how to do it for free. What is wrong with him getting a kickback here and there from the hosting company that you will have to use anyway, especially when it is fully disclosed contrary to what you claim? Everyone is entitled to their opinions Randy, but you may want to think twice and make sure you have your facts straight next time you go on a forum like this with the intention of ruining someone else’s reputation. And judging by your website posted on your profile (hawaiimortgageloan.info) you may want to go back and sit through the 5 day training… broken image links on your main landing page and no rate updates since February, tisk tisk.
You also posted this complaint on 9/18, and here we are over a month later with multiple retorts to your claim with supporting evidence/links and you are nowhere to be found. You need to be a man and come take responsibility for your post; I think an apology is in order. |

It's amazing that "underarmsrfun" is complaining about this. At the end of the day, his complaint boils down to Chad offering a great service and wanting to making money on it....and???
Chad is a straight shooter and this hack is upset because he didn't get everything for free. He then writes this long negative comment.
It sounds like "underarmsrfun" is starting to realize his real self-worth and wants someone to blame for his own lack of business.
