Brent,
Thanks for stopping by.
I get asked that a lot about all of our databases (BTW, we have a couple thousand MB/LO contacts for Florida with full data).
The answer is I sell our data the way it is without breaking it down further. Our databases have been designed, packaged and priced to sell keeping in mind who buys them the most - bulk marketers.
If I had a price of $2,500 for the National MB/LO Database, then I could break out individual states, cities, etc. and sell them individually. But, then no one would buy the main database (or the smaller ones) because of price - then I would have the bulk marketers begging for "geographically grouped discounts" so they could buy data in bulk and keep their costs reasonable.
I try to inform folks that e-mail marketing is best done in bulk. Whenever someone wants to send a small campaign (less than 100K for example) they need to know that their results will be next to nothing (depending on their profit margin, of course). Sending off to 10K, 25K, 50K, etc. once doesn't do much. You have to send to that database 3 to 6 times to get some impact (once again, that depends on profit margin) - just as with other kinds of mass marketing.
I have (of course) been proven wrong by many customers too! I have had folks send to a 20K REA Database just once and come up with half a dozen funded loans as a result! Their $100 made them $15K - $20K in 45 days - certainly not the norm, but it does happen.
I try to tell folks that they are sending a campaign and they should treat it as such. They need to accept responsibility for their marketing and understand that they need to put in the time and due diligence to optimize their results and not try to fly with "one hand on the ejection handle" waiting to blame us for their potential low returns.
Campaigns are definitely not for the folks who want quick money. It can happen (and often does), but effective campaigns are based on the fortitude of the campaigner. They need to understand that subject lines are their first thing the recipients will typically see. It needs to be tested and changed and tested and changed until optimum results are being seen.
The message content is also critical. Recipients want to do business with folks who seem like they know what they are doing. A campaigner needs to change message content, tone, style, etc. just like they change the subject lines to create the very best combination that will bring home the best results.
Some folks make $2,500 or more per sale. Some folks make $250 or less per sale. The campaigner needs to take a very strong look at their business model and work the numbers to see if they even have a shot at recouping their marketing cost by a factor of at least 3. I try to tell our customers that they need to take their e-mail marketing seriously - just as if they were sending out 500K mailers.
Boy, I kind of took a quick left turn away from your subject, LOL - sorry about that. I guess I just wanted to let folks know that e-mail marketing is not best done in small amounts. Our customers who have products/services that appeal to a national audience (or without regard to specific geographic location) have the best week after week, month after month and year after year RESULTS. Also, I try to let our customers know that they will typically proportionally get out of a campaign - what they put into a campaign. If they just want to spend $100 bucks or they just want to send off to 50K contacts once - hey fine, they are the customer. I try to let them know not to bet the ranch.
E-mail marketing is not difficult to learn, but it does take the same basic logic, business acumen and willingness as other types of mass marketing - the caveat being, e-mail marketing is much less expensive.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I am always happy to help steer folks in the right direction for what is best for them.

I cant send out a national database we dont help all those clients. Can i buy the florida database if not i understand. Seems like you have great products. Good Luck to you. Thanks.
Brent
I understand, but we do not sell partial MB/LO Databases.
Many of our customers are in the very same boat as you. Except, they STILL market to the entire National MB/LO Database nonetheless - nothing personal; it's just good business. You see, many folks who do business in Florida are not necessary physically located in Florida.
We have customers who have great success marketing in national bulk campaigns, even when that means sending a message specifically designed for just Florida recipients.
Sorry I could not help you further and I wish you success as well.
Chris
