Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Wednesday, July 08, 2009
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 32% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-seven percent (37%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –5.
The number who strongly disapprove inched up another point to the highest level measured to date and the overall Approval Index is at the lowest level yet for Obama (see trends).
In the wake of last week’s disappointing report on job loss, consumer confidence has fallen to the lowest level in two months. The Rasmussen Investor Index shows investor confidence falling to the lowest level in three months. The number of investors who say the economy is getting worse jumped from 43% before the jobs report to 51% today.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter.
Overall, 52% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Yesterday and today are the first time that the number of voters who approve of the President’s performance has slipped below the 53% share of the vote he won last November. Forty-eight percent (48%) now disapprove. For other barometers of the President’s performance, see Obama By the Numbers or review recent demographic highlights from the tracking polls.

I blame this on Obama himself, as he falsely made everyone believe it is the government job to create jobs. People need to learn to be independent and not depend on the government.
We can only depend on ourselves to survive, if anyone is waiting for the government to come to their rescue they are doomed for failure!

| And it will continue to go lower and lower and I predict that by the end of just one term most will want Obama to just simply "GO AWAY" |

Rasmussen uses only likely voters. Gallup does not, which is interesting in it self. Does this mean that likely voters, who are more engaged, have a more negative view of Obama while the registered voter, who is less engaged, believes headlines and sound bites, therefore having a more positive view? |

Add...if these polls are to be believed and are considered accurate, why is there such a huge variance in the numbers and why do more "liberal" organizations have higher poll numbers for Obama??

It means that non-voters don't care about politics and always say 'yes' to get the pollster out of their face.

I think there is going to be a major stock market correction, bank another major company or collapse and some other very bad news hitting the printing presses in the next two months. The fat lady has not yet sung...

| Economy will weigh down on him plus the war escalation in Afghanistan. Basically under Obama administration, our forces are fighting with their hands tied. We will continue to see more loss and most likely triple the amount of KIAs in Iraq since they can't go after the terrorist. Under Obama policy, I believe Afghanistan will be Vietnam all over again because we go in full force; but instead of fighting all out, we held back and biting bullets. |

I agree with this sentiment. I see the market down big by October if not sooner. I also see some type of systemic shock coming from the banking or some other sector.
The fat lady isn't even on the stage yet, let alone singing. |

even bawack's poll hits under 30% by 2012, he will still win his second term.
I'm no fan of bawack (dems) or reps. So far, that's how I see it. |

| Well, the noise is louder with the mention of Stimulus II. Unbelieveable, just unbelieveable. The accounting is starting for Stim I and it's not going to be pretty. |

Which is down from a couple of days ago, confirming the trend of numbers falling. Maybe the stock market, maybe the unemployment rate going up, maybe gas being up, maybe a combination. |

| It doesn't really matter which poll you are looking at, the trend is going down. Obama is starting to have that same stupid look as Bush in the media. Did anyone see a picture of him at G8 summit on CNN? He looked so dumbfound. I think the media is about to turn on him. |

The picture I saw with both couples was kind of odd. Michelle was wearing some bright yellow dress and looked huge compared to the other three....kind of like a giant canary. |
