I've finally joined twitter. I manage a Contract Processing Company and have been trying different ideas to keep LO's posted on there loans in process.
Do you think this is too much info online? I designed it to limit the info to just a last name and Broker/Banker company, posting major activities.
Any input would be appreciated..

Your adoption of new technologies into your business model is commendable, but I don't know that I would use something as open as Twitter for posting file updates. Maybe consider systems like Stewarts SureClose or getting clients transitioned over to encompass, etc.
That's my overcautious analysis. Otherwise, I think it's pretty cool and as long as clients (and most importantly - borrowers) don't push back...run with it. |

I'd be very nervous about including ANY personally identifiable consumer information in a public forum (even just a last name.) Also, do your clients want to review all files in process from all brokers/lenders to locate theirs, including having their file status available for viewing by potential competitors? I would think some clients might have an issue with any information being released.
We're also testing Twitter, but we restrict its use to announcing relevant, non-sensitive mortgage credit content to clients (http://Twitter.com/CreditTech)
You might also consider a platform such as Microsoft Messenger - You can privately update clients instantaneously (it can be set to appear on their cell/handheld device.) It's bi-directional, so the client can quickly respond with a question of concern if desired and it's more secure than posting all in a public forum such as Twitter.
Twittter has great potential as a communication forum, but it's a challenge to determine how to best use it for commercial purposes.

Nothing personal, but i think Twitter is one of the dumbest things ever.
Are you going to twit that you are now working on files, now taking a dump, now wiping etc.....?
Wouldnt it be more useful to either send an email with status rather than twitting for everyone to see?
Or maybe set up a dedicated site for status for each company that you process for? Again- so everyone doesnt have to see? |

LMAO. Charles hit it on the head with this Twitter business...I can't see how practical this form of marketing is for our profession. |
