| This time, I'll Make sure I wash my hands, after lighting the illegal fireworks. Last year, the cop that came to my door asked to smell my fingers...busted! This year, my finger will smell very different...call hazmat. |

I have to say that is one thing I have never been asked, nor would I ask someone if I could. Too funny. |

Side note:
fireworks, which are legal in MS, start popping and booming and exploding around the middle of June.
Truth: they abate until Halloween, then the streets and backyards light up at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and way past Mardi Gras.
I have never seen such affinity for potentially blowing your fingers off or eyes out of your sockets.
But it was intriguing to witness.

So Funny... Laguna Beach out of money.... Have you been to Laguna Beach lately?
I live 7 minutes from the water, but haven't been downtown in a few months. Why? From what it looks like, people are still spending tons of money in Laguna Beach! With places like the Ritz Carlton, Montage, ect., you would think the city is still rich. |

I am taking my soon to be 16 year old to a tea party. He's more conservative than I am. This event has grown huge, taking over a major park with 4 or 5 major corporate sponsors and half a dozen more on a smaller scale......all you can eat BBQ, soft drinks, snow cones, popcorn, etc......music.....can't wait!

Exactly. I live in Dana Point and have a number of friends who live in Laguna. None of them are even close to hurting for money. I think it is just an excuse for LG to stop having fireworks.
Come down to Dana Point they have the best fireworks show around. If you park off of PCH and watch from the blufftop you can also see San Clemente's and Carlsbads. Just stay away from the actual harbor area.... It is a nightmare on the 4th. |

Fourth of July here:
1) sleep in
2) have an extra fine breakfast at home (we always do on the weekends)
3) watch our grandson (high school junior) play a baseball double header
4) read the Declaration of Independence (really)
5) attend party at our son's place
6) leave before the young folks (in their forties) gently ask us to do so
7) reflect at our good fortune
Simple, the way we want it.
Have a good one everybody.

You're right. Dealers (generally) are poor players. I stay on the side of the table that always has the advantage.
I never play unless I am on the house side of the table. Tokes, tokes, tokes!
I'll be taking tokes all weekend, do nothing but play blackjack, roulette and 3 card poker, and leave the casino with more cash than I walked in with. Guaranteed!

Frank,
The 4th is a huge weekend here. But, look up the Ruidoso Futurity. I know you like the ponies. It's quarter horse racing's version of the Derby. |

| Staying close to home as we usually do on Holidays. Last year we did go to the Lake on the 4th and it was nuts. Won't do that again. I think that comes with age, not wanting to mess with crowds and the water police. |

They are hurting, I have a friend whom owns a very popular resturant in Laguna Beach that has been around for years, his sales are way down barley hanging in there. He sold the place two years ago only to get it back due to the bad economy and the new owner could not hang in there. I don't want to mention the name on the public forum, but you know the restaurant if you know Laguna Beach, according to him many retailers in the area are also hurting.
Home prices in Laguna are down some 50% in may parts of town, only the really high end stuff is not being hit so hard.

| We went to a tea party and had a blast. It was originally thought 300 would show, but over 1000 came. Those running in November for State offices were present, as well as, other guest speakers that were great. Great music.....games for the kids (petting zoo too), all you can eat food, door prizes for trivia quizes, and everyone got a Glenn Beck book. Great signs, great company, great time! We can't wait until 9/12! |

Went to Mission Bay in San Diego. By 9 15 pm, I was standing on a perfect spot near the water bay area witnessing the most outstanding four different areas of fireworks. You have to be there to see this. I was very impressed by this location and temps was in low 60s. Can't ask for any better place than Mission Bay area. |

The Mission Bay multiple show is the best firework show hands down. I want to go again next year, missed this year as we fell asleep from jet lag as we just flew in from Zurich.

I went to a tea party. Truth be told, I drove by a tea party ... in Jacksonville. Tens of thousands of people crowded the landing and they were all fired up and having a great time. This tea party thing is a real movement ... sure to kick Obama out of office in 2012.
Keep up the great tea party efforts. Your country needs you.
Actually, my 4th involved a keg party in my cul-de-sac. Beer, food, neighbors and lots of fireworks. I forgot how much fun beer pong is at 2:00 AM! |

| Actually, over 1300 tea parties were held across the nation. I don't think the goal was ever to get press involved, but more importantly to get the people involved. Add to it, MSM certainly won't carry it and much of the world is on vacation.......No, the fact that this got people off their butts and outside to show strength in numbers was huge. People that in previous circumstances would never attend a protest. At the event I went to, there was over a 2 mile bumper to bumper back up just to enter the park.....40 minute wait just to get in. (I shot some pix, I'll see if I can get them online). |

I am just now seeing reports of tea parties. In Dallas over 37,000 attended a tea party......
Momentum is expected to build w/ talks of Stimulus II and the Cap and Trade coming up for a vote......not to mention, "read the bill first" (Steny Hoyer actually laughed at the idea)and health care......
Polls are showing support for the administration is falling. What's unbelieveable, there is absolutely no mention of reigning it in. |
