Cowboys and Cardinals game has had a pretty crazy first half. Another turnover right before halftime!!!
Can't wait for the Chargers/Patriots. My brother will be down on the field with a former Charger, little punk!! |

| DId they enjoy the trouncing? It's been a long time coming. I really am almost happy as this will hopefully deflate the Hatriots attitude out there. Charges vs Cowboys - SB? That would be a fun game. |

the writing is on the wall for the Patriots. Bellicheat and his big ego thought he was the sh1t in New England and a genius coach who could stick basically any player into his 'system' and they'd still be perrinial Super Bowl contenders. What he's gonna find out this yr the hard way is that Brady, not him made the Patriots work and he was basically riding Brady's coattails.
Jerry Jones went thru the same thing in Dallas when he fired Jimmy Johnson as a coach and started hiring puppets on a string to prove to JJ that 'I could hire 500 different people to win w this team'. He was jealous of Jimmy Johnsons fame and got rid of him. Bellicheat is doing the same thing trying to prove that it's him, not Brady that make the Pats rock n Roll and like Jerry Jones in Dallas he's gonna crash n burn
Matt Cassell, perrinial benchwarmer college QB, gimme a break.
After saying all that, the Chargers... espc Phillip Rivers & the D, looked Super Bowl worthy last night. If Rivers stays healthy, the Chargers are the team to beat in the AFC. |

The Patriots really stunk.
I will give them another game, though, before I write them off.

I could see a Chargers/Cowboys SB this year, that would be a great game.
How many turnovers were in the Cowboys/Cardinals game yesterday, 200? :P |

Scrooge I'll give you the this to chew on then. When Brady went down for the yr the Patriots top brass scanned the waiver wire and called up 3 different QB's for tryouts on Monday. After flying up there Bellicheat sent them all home without any of them throwing a single pass, saying his offense is too complex for a QB to pick up wout going thru training camp. WTF is that horse crap. Obviously it's too complex for Cassell. The Patriots could do better bringing Flutie back than they will w Cassell. He s*cks, plain & simple
As of 10 minutes ago they just announced that Tony Romo is out for 4wks right now min. However the Cowboys have Brad Johnson as the backup (who won a Super Bowl w Tampa Bay) who does have some experience & leadership, something Cassell sorely lacks. Lets compare the Cowboys record while Romo is out & Johnson is in vs Cassell's for the rest of the yr and then you can LOL all you want. |

I changed it, I was thinking of where their Super Bowl opponet would be coming from
To add what I said to earlier, they put on that offensive juggernaut last night w'out Chris Chambers, wait till he gets back in the lineup. Also w the way Sproles is coming along, they'll be able to rest Tomlinson throughout the season from time to time so he'll be fresh for the playoffs & not be so beat up and in need of a body cast at the end of the yr like he has been for the past 3yrs. |

my point exactly, he's telling Kraft and his family to stay the h3ll out of the way of player personnel and let him sink the ship all on his own. Parcells had the same problem in New England w the Krafts as well.
Hey, it's worked before. John Madden or Tom Flores couldn't stand Al Davis yet they won Super Bowls, Don Shula and Joe Robbie couldn't be in the same room more than 5 minutes without getting into a shouting match yet Shula won back to back Super Bowls. But, and this is a big but, the coaches I mentioned above were smart enough to have legit backup QB's because they realized the importance of the position and the ultra high downside risk of having an perrinial benchwarmer behind center QBing the team. Do you seriously think Indy or Philadelphia would be a playoff caliber teams w'out Peyton & Donavan running the show???? Look at the Jets, their a new team w Favre as their QB
What Bellichek is doing is the equivalent of letting some 2/28 subprime flunkie in your office take over a $500 million cross collateralized Commercial Loan, the only difference being at least you can micro manage the loan. When Cassell is on the field Bellichek cant do jack once the ball is snapped. |

I agree, being too cheap to resign Asante Samuel & Donte Stallworth was a bad move on their part espc Asante Samuel. I said the day he signed w the Eagles that the Patriots would regret it. Good CB's are very hard to find at the NFL level. Why do you think the Cowboys are bending over backwards to keep PacMan eligible
The Patriots will still beat the garbage teams of the NFL (Raiders, Rams, Seahawks), however they cant hang w the top tier teams of the league and w Buffalo, Miami & the Jets improving drastically from '07 to '08 there not gonna make the playoffs. |

I'm not from San Diego read my profile. I'm actually from Miami and a die hard Dolphin fan which is why I take a great joy in watching the Patriots crash n burn. I picked the Chargers to win the Super Bowl pre pre season and have a C note or 2 or 5 on them at 8:1. It seemed a better bet than Miami at 250:1 at the time. 1-15 teams w a new coach, a new QB, that get rid of their 2 best players and have a rasta wannabe RB usu don't do too much over a 16 game season, although I've been pleasently suprised by their success this yr w Ronnie Brown running the Wildcat formation. However it'll just be a matter of time before the DC's figure out how to stop it. |

that was tough to watch at the end. As many games as I've watched over the yrs I knew the Texans would score when Johnson made that acrobatic catch on 4-10. We still got a ways to go but at least were out of the gutter now and letting the Lions have that all to themselves. 8-8 would be a great yr for us |

I'm not envious, more like bewildered that the Patriots would be so friggin stupid to give the keys to Cassell

calling Cassell a back up is a strech. I'd take Tim Tebow or Colt McCoy or Chase Daniel even Terrelle Pryor in college right now over him.
Why the Patriots dont go out and hire Culpepper for the rest of the yr and live & die by Culpepper to Moss w some Welker thrown in there to keep the defenses honest is beyond me. It worked pretty well in Minnesota for a # of yrs, why not now???? They didn't have a problem bringing in Testeverde or Flutie when things were going well. Why the sudden change of heart when things aren't???? Could this be Bellicheks unchecked ego at work, thumbing his finger to the league saying, you other teams are a bunch of idiots, i'll take the worst QB in the league that couldn't even start in college and make a Super Bowl run w him.
All Moss is now is a $7million dollar decoy.
I'm not envious, just shocked that there gonna go w Cassell for the yr. He still couldn't start at USC right now over Sanchez. What the h3ll is he doing starting for the Patriots? Oh, that's right he has the genius's blessing. Yeah OK, Xcuse me but I'll take a pass on that Kool Aid.
Dont worry though, you still have the Red Sox and the Celtics and Bruins are just around the corner, '09 will be here before you know it. |

it was the numbers on the helmets. The Jets have looked great since they went to the throwback NY Titans uniforms, San Diego smoked the Patriots w their vintage powder blue throwback AFL jerseys from the 60's, could be a new NFL trend. |

I think it would be cool to see the old school uniforms for divisional battles... |

My late friend Charlie Leigh played for Cleveland in the 60's. Went to Miami in the Paul Warfield trade. Was on the undefeated Miami team of '72. He was one of the few players ever to play in the NFL Straight Out Of High School! Never played a down of college ball!
When they asked Pat Riley, who was the tuffest guy you ever played BB or FB against in HS, most expect him to site his one game against Lew Alcindor. Pat Riley said, hands down, Charlie Leigh. They had two epic battles on the BB court, each scoring about 25 a game. Riley was a senior, Leigh was a freshman!

HAHA! Are you for real! 3x champs already this decade. SD champs...never. So, what were the chances that the back up was going to perform like the #1 qb in the league overnight? The envy just seeps out of you doesn't it. Sorry but your team has got to win a few before we will take you seriously.
WOW you are REALLY steamed up about getting crushed by the CHARGERS!!!
GO BOLTS!!
Actually I'm quite happy to have this respite. i want all the teams we beat on for the last 7 years to get some wins on us and take some of the fire out of them for when tom comes back.

I honestly am not. As I get older I find myself caring less and less about guys running around in tights. |

HAHA. The pain of growing up in a living in a beach community, I've had the same problem all my life dude, don't think it will go away!! If you are in the area during lunch time let me know, we can go downstairs and grab a bite/drink at HOOTERS. Yes, I do get to gaze out my office window to view the abundant amount of girls coming and going daily, not so bad!! :)
