Something to think very seriously about as the World's Central Bankers meet over the long weekend.

This is serious sh*t folks.

Here's a snippet, and the link below.

In all of these events, and as we have mentioned many times before, the greatest enemy of these American people appears to be their own ignorance as they, seemingly, have absolutely no idea on how to protect themselves, but which even Russian schoolchildren knows is the exchanging of a collapsing currency for one that is doing better, and which millions of ordinary Russians did during the collapse of the Soviet economy by purchasing American Express Travelers Cheques in US Dollars and British Pound Sterling.

To whatever becomes of these American people entering what is, in essence, a Third World Economy, it remains a main fact that they continue to ignore the many warnings from outside their country of the many catastrophes still to come, even to their false bravado of laughing these warnings off as they plunge into the abyss.

I don't think it's that bad...The mortgage only comprises <5% of mortgages, unemployment is at 6%(guess, but 19% less than the last depression), the GDP is only 1% down(IIRC), tha malls are PACKED, gas is LOW and the leaves are starting to change color!...The market has had many of the swings, not this fast, but it will survive and so will we...I refuse to think the sky is falling, if it is, nobody told the people around here and there is no way this is the only place...Most Americans are still going thru their day to day gigs, no matter how bad the media wants to portray it, it's not that bad...It's bad, but far from time to stockpile goods...

I appreciate your optimism.

We'll find out on Monday or Tuesday where we stand.

Things can change .... quickly.

I have a friend who lived in Argentina during their meltdown, and sh*t can change overnight.

In any case, it wouldn't be a bad idea to hit the grocery store this weekend and stock up a little bit.

People here laugh at Loan pro alot because of all the doom and gloom but he is one of the few people who actually looks at all the stories and media out there and not our particular brand that suits our party / platform beliefs.

The other thing to watch for: Germany and Russia. Germany's move away from NATO and into the hands for short tern finacial oil security. We know how this ha splayed out in the past and surely will again. Germany has an election in 09 and I think this will be telling on the future of NATO. Germany has been a involuntary mouthpiece since after WW@ and caught in our cold war with Russia. They seem to be moving toward Germany's national interests now that America's influence and ability to deal with Eurasian theater wanes.
