According to the information on the website of one net branch company, the following states may allow a small number of loans originated by out of state L/Os:
CT, DC, DE, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, MN, MT, NC, NE, NJ,
NY, PA, PA, RI, VA WA, WI, and WV.
This seems to be contradictory to what I have read thru BO for all these years that some States do not allow out of state loans thru net branches at all (net branching is illegal in some States) and some States may even prohibit loan origination by a non-licensed L/O and will not give any exception.
Anyone in one of the above states can provide the information please. I do have a customer in Blain, Washington, who is talking to me as he moved up there from California but I am afraid to originate his loan as I am not licenced in WA but my net branch is telling me that I could get a one-time exception from the State. Thanks,
Peter |

Years ago Washington used to allow you to close 2 or 3 loans a year if you never advertised or solicited business from the State. They now require a license even if you close one loan. Some info: http://www.mortgagenewsdaily.com/mortgage_license/Washington.asp |

No exemptions in WA. Most exemptions are at the company level.
If you need help with WA let me know I am licensed in WA |

Thanks, Bill, and I will. It's good to know whom I can turn to close by if and when I get this loan.
