| Is Ramirez one sick hitting maniac or what. I haven't seen this kind of dominance at the plate since Barry Bonds. It's some great stuff to watch I'll tell you that. |

unless the Mets or Yankees make him an offer he cant refuse I say Ramirez stays w the Dodgers. Hollywood is the exact kinda place for Ramirez, he loves the attention and the bright lights, big city atmosphere that LA can provide. Boston & Cleveland were a little too blue collar for him & he's said before he wants to play in a City w a large Spanish following.
Even if he does go it was a sweet deal for the Dodgers, they had all those sellouts when he arrived, got in the playoffs, became a much mentally tougher & looser team, beat the Cubs in the 1st round and had Boston pick up $18 of the $20mil of his contract this yr. I'd say that was a mini financial boom & a success for the Dodgers all the way around for them in '08
When all is said and done you cannot begin to measure the impact that Torre & Manny had on the Dodgers this yr, they just need to keep it going into the future now. |

Manny has been great throughout his career and was a huge boost to the Dodgers but he is 36 now and will probably finish up his career as the DH for the Yankees. Few other teams have the bucks to pay Manny what he will demand. The Yankees have always loved big name free agents (especially ex-Red Sox). Manny was born in the DR but moved with his family to upper Manhattan as a teen. Joining the Bronx Bombers would be a homecoming for Manny. I think there is a very good chance he will be donning the pinstripes. |

Manny can mash, and at 36, he's got 10 years as a DH ahead of him. He grew up in Spanish Harlem, within sight of The Stadium. In spite of being a knucklehead, he keeps in pretty good physical shape (picture Bonds minus 'roids) and is worth whatever he can get.
When I said I hope he stays out of the AL East, I meant, of course, exempting the Yankees!

Yep ... I agree with you. He sure would make a good addition to the Yankees! ... but he'd have to be to cleaned up.
