Given the implosion of America's financial infrastructure I find it VERY curious that neither Obama or McCain have presented any VIABLE strategies for getting the U.S ecomomy back on track and, in their "Town Hall" discussions, appear to be content with blaming the other's Party for causing the mess.
I am NOT in the slightest bit interested in who's to blame... there's enough of that to encircle the Globe three of four times inclusive of both the Republican and the Democrats. All I want to to hear is a presentation of economically supportable and socially affordable ANSWERS. That, my friends, we have yet to hear.
At least our incumbent and embattled President is endeavoring to do SOMETHING and the G-8 meeting will hopefully become a "meeting of the minds". America's economic problems ARE the World's problems.
Politicians treat "us" as mushrooms...= feed 'em sh.t and keep 'em in the dark! Guess what, despite three decades of failing public education and a woeful lack of basic economics being taught, "we" are far from stupid!
WANT OUR VOTE? THEN DAMN WELL EARN IT AND IF YOU DON'T KEEP FAITH WITH WHAT YOU PROMISED AND FAIL TO DELIVER... GET THE HELL OUT!
When a Presdidential candidate becomes the elected choice and finds him or herself facing an opposition party majority in either of both Houses that defiantly oppose LOGIC and COMMONSENSE then use EXCECUTIVE ORDERS.
Be advised, "we" the American people have had it with Washington's shennanigans and "we, the People" will DEMAND AND RECEIVE better. |

| Romeny was smart enough to pull out of this before he got stuck with the chaos that is to come. Based on his past though, he certainly would have presented a plan of some sort. My thoughts are that nothing can be fixed or corrected, we simply need to implement change to our systems to prevent this from happening again. After we recover of course, which is where nature will just have to take its course as we work through this crisis. |

| We the people will first have to change our hearts and minds before we can take the task of changing not only Washington but state and local governments. Stop! being driven by Fear! |

Dude... I'm a minority and I don't fear Obama. I just don't vote for him that is all. |

Dude! I wasn't referencing to any candidate or majority or minority. The public of people, generally make critical decisions by being fearful. |

| Good post Richard, were I Mr. McCain I would announce that we are going back to the GOLD standard. And re-train our unempoyed to rebuild our bridges, roads, water pipelines, and as for Colorado we need at least four or five new dams |

So much for the good news...
As Wall Street goes, so goes the nation. And here's a look at the closing numbers:
racism's up...human rights are down...peace is shaky...war items are hot. Jobs are down...money is scarce and common sense is at an all-time low on heavy trading.

What has happened is that in the last 20 years, America has changed from a producer to a consumer. And all consumers know that when the producer names the tune the consumer has got to dance. That's the way it is.
We used to be a producer, very inflexible at that, and now we are consumers and, finding it difficult to understand. Natural resources and minerals will change your world.
The Arabs used to be in the 3rd World. They have bought the 2nd World and put a firm down payment on the 1st one. Controlling your resources will control your world. This country has been surprised by the way the world looks now. They don't know if they want to be Matt Dillon or Bob Dylan. They don't know if they want to be diplomats or continue the same policy - of nuclear nightmare diplomacy.

Pure brilliance ... great post.
Hey, when's the next "free trade" agreement up for a vote?
Oh, that's right, we don't vote on that do we? ... it's agreed upon by unelected elitists.
We Americans have become shallow, simple-minded fools with short attention spans and even shorter memories.
Ron Paul has the right solutions ... too bad the American people are so stupid as to determine their vote on 'looking the part' ... or 'being charasmatic'.
The day of reckoning is upon us ... and we deserve what's coming.
