I just joined this site today. I"m sorry to say-I'm not sure I want to stay.
I posted some scenarios so I will see if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Mu issues or concerns that I have are:
As i was reading a lot of the other post-I would see a subject that might be able to help me, and as I read through the comments- I was puzzled? It seems some people are interested in bashing others than actually replying to the subject
My concerns as a newbie are: I saw this approach (bashing each other) more often than actually helping people. I undertand that I have not read the thousand's of post here-so hence my reason for this post to see others who are members thoughts
Thanks

First welcome...

It's like anything where many people congregate, you have to take the good with the bad...Many here are also struggling badly and you know how misery loves company...The answers are here, just ignore the crap and take what you need...If you can offer some help even better!...Leaving if also your choice, best of success to you!...

With the market as vanilla as it is it's going to be quite rare that someone can post a tough loan scenario and get a legitimate response from a lender who can really do it. The ones that get bashed are the continuous posting of 1.5MM loan amount, 660 Fico, SIVA at 80% LTV scenarios. Since those who really know the market right now know that you can't do this crap, the poster will be subject to a little ridicule.

Thicken your skin and stay around and oh by the way I meant "taught senerial".

I understand your point-I guess my thoughts are If you have someone brand new in the business-why bash them for asking for help? I remember when I first entered into the business 8yrs ago-one of the reasons I stay around (obviously closing deals) But when I brought deals to my manager (some where way out wack as I look back now-it was helpful to me that he help me understand why those loans didn't work, rather than bashing me for asking? In which sometimes is my impression on some of responses Ive read. I also would like to say some people seemed as if they were helping people too. Thank you all for thoughts and responses. I will stay on board because this forum overall seems like an amazing outlet and resource.
Thanks

Hello Gb3,
Believe it or not, this is a good forum. You have to just look past all the negative an look for the positive.

Welcome to the Outpost.

This was once the prototype for a mortgage forum, under previous ownership.

It has unfortunately been reduced to a place where so many of the posters are hyperactive, spastic, juvenile and generally unfit to serve the industry, or any industry for that matter.

There are about 20 or so whose input can be valued, but you'll have to muddle thru the muck and ignore a lot of childish behavior to glean that value.

Welcome to the BO!

I am always lurking...LOL. Why do you say that?

I am probably onre of the few who 'tell it straight' vs the bums trying to steal deals and claim they 'can fund it'...I would rather just tell somoeone their deal is trash before they waste more time on it, or direct them to the right lender, not some yahoo.com broker.

This is a much bigger point that may have been overlooked, nobody should knock someone for asking a question here, but I'm wondering where all the support is for these people that have to...If I worked for a company and I couldn't get the answer I needed, something is wrong...I can understand looking for a 2nd opinion, but some of these questions are so 101, it makes you wonder if they even have someone to ask...

LOL!!Oh s**t!! Welcome to the B/O. Half of the people who post either are on their way out of the business and lookin for another job, don't know what they're talkin about or are looking to jack you for your deal. The other half of us are here to help. Your first task in your initiation is to figure out who's who!

I've been in this biz over 25 years, and it's not a biz that ever offered much training or support help internally, less now than ever! You're pretty much on your own, sink or swim. Got a question, ask away, but do your research first from previous posts.

It is sad, when the MI companies were making huge bank they paid for the lions share of the training, AND they bought us LUNCH! Now, after a huge detour in available programs, we're back to plain vanilla, and I'm still not sure from day to day what that is. So much for my 25 years experience!

I whole heartedly agree. Just look at recent Usernames, no selfrespecting person would even consider joining a public forum with Usernames of that kind. This aspect of the forum should also be monitored. I used to love and appreciate the forum. Lately the IQ-level has dropped to that of a teenage- myspace-style forum. Sadly enough.
But still, neverthe less, sometimes advise found here is rather valuable.

Welcome to the OP Gibran,

all mortgage forums contain some amount of information, ideas, opinions that may

prove of some utility, however, to find anything of value on mortgage forums,

requires one to root through substantial amounts of garbage, disinformation, ETC.

Despite all the childish behavior to be found on this forum on a regular basis,

to my knowledge there is no __public mortgage forum containing better

quantity and quality of posts. I suspect there are some companies, with their

own internal mortgage forums where quality is better overall,

however, since it would be logical to expect company management,

to closely monitor their own forums, a certain freedom of expression

will be lacking in those internal forums.

IE, an internal mortgage forum, really might not be the best place to find out,

your company is about to shut down.

In the past 2 years there have been a number of people who found the OP

while performing a google search, on a branch company they were

on the verge of wiring substantial funds to.

I can tell you with virtual certainty,

many of those folks were saved some serious financial

pain by forum members, who took it upon themselves to look out for

the other guy.

Mr. Hufford, I contribute much more than you'll ever have the acumen to.

Perhaps you ought to stick to telling everyone who does it every day that it isnt possible to buy lists of delinquent mortgagors.

You're an irresponsible, hyperactive buffoon with OCD tendencies.

Funny. I love your hyperactive vocabulary.

Even funnier is that everytime you try to spat with me here, I recieve numerous private emails about how they agree with me, dislike you, and think you are the buffoon. Especially when we all know you never conribute anything here but to try and and get paid for "consultng" or sell us on how smart of a guy you are, which never works.

So I take it you dont't want to further demonstrate your intellect, your acumen, your business knowledge by..........again.........telling all of us who buy delinquent mortgage lists........that........its impossible to buy delinquent mortgage lists....? The question being asked by someone who's done just that thousands of times......?

Are you as confident in saying that it isnt possible as you are proficient in the arena of commercial deals..........?

Welcome to the Outpost.

This was once the prototype for a mortgage forum, under previous ownership.

It has unfortunately been reduced to a place where so many of the posters are hyperactive, spastic, juvenile and generally unfit to serve the industry, or any industry for that matter.

There are about 20 or so whose input can be valued, but you'll have to muddle thru the muck and ignore a lot of childish behavior to glean that value.

Another case in point: (this one sends repeated 3rd grade emails to me through the Outpost)

Mr. Van Gilder, if want I can retrieve all those silly emails that look like they were written by a virgin 13 year old boy and post them here and email them to the Admin. here. I have no doubt they'd get you banned and I will bet if you consider it carefully that even you would agree.

The question being asked by someone who's done just that thousands of times......?

Are you as confident in saying that it isnt possible as you are proficient in the arena of commercial deals..........?

I was not familiar with buying lists of people who are 30 days late, that is all. I stood corrected, I don't buy leads or lists ever. Not sure why you are latching onto that...its tired.

As you can tell people, Johnny Boy here has very few friends on this site and most people pretty much ignore him, so keep that in mind if he ever tries to sell you some advice - here is here purely to try and personally profit finacially.

Dont lump us all with Jonnhy - he is a one of the few who really bring nothign to the table here other than trying to boost his image while bashing others for no reason.
