They will combine and rename them and make them less than half of what they both were with the most stringent guidelines.
What is your prediction? |

I just Sara on TV and she said that Fannie/Freddie had grown too big and should be downsized to a smaller organization. If elected V.P., I am sure she will carry out the implicit promise in her speech.

I read from Bloomberg that Pimco Fund, the largest bond fund in the world, is going to invest in Fannie & Freddie. Why? They must see the future in a positive light that we may not see it now.

| Peter, Bill Gross of Pimco, which is one of the larger bond funds in the world, already hold fannie/freddie mortgage backed securities, Pimco has been a cheerleader for the feds taking ovwr Fannie for the last 6 months, anyway , this is a big win for pimco, because the spread on the mortgage backed securities will be better since the paper is now 100% gauenteed by the feds, prior to the feds taking over fannie/freddie , the chinese, and other large holders were getting killed on the fear that a fannie mae default on the mortgage backed securities, anyway, Pimco, will be a large buyer of MBS because they are now 100% gauranteed paper , just like treasury bonds, we should see a massive rush to the paper from many sources , especially, the Chinese, japanese, and other wealth funds, the bad part is we the tax payor probably are going to pay for these guys for many years, of course , if we get the necessary liquidy back in the mortgage market, we can all start to party like its 1999 and wont mind paying some taxes... That would be great for our mortgage market indeed. If Pimco buys MBS other bond funds will probably follow like a school of fish, and let us hope for the revival of the market for the good of everybody.
