I must admit.

That speech Obama gave at the DNC convention last night was very impressive.

McCain is in big trouble.

Why do I say this?

Because Obama gets it. It's as simple as that. He understands Main Street, and John McCain does not.

Obama understands the frustrations of the Middle-Class and he knows how to communicate and connect with the Middle-Class through his words. He puts the issues into words better than any Democrat I've seen since Bill Clinton.

It is for this reason, and mainly this reason, that he will defeat John McCain in November. (Assuming the GOP is willing to cut their own throat by nominating him next week in Minneapolis)

No matter how you feel about Obama, you have to admit ... that was one h*ll of a speech last night.

I can't wait to watch the RNC next week.

Get ready for a good belly laugh.

I am voting for McCain, but will definitely agree that Obama was incredible last night. He is simply an amazing orator, and unfortunately for many in America it is not what you say but how you say it.

So true.

And you're right, it is unfortunate.

Now all the talk is on Sarah Palin. Funny how the tables can turn. This is not good for Obama.

My wife made a good point: the President's real job is to energize the country, give hope, and get people involved.

Obama-as much as I disagree with his proposals is doing that.

Luke

How can a pick that definately looks like pandering to Hillary voters be good for McCain?

90% of Hillary's voters stated they are voting for Obama and With Hillary (And Bill's) they will get a majority of the rest.

Did you see the first response from the GOP

They brought up the tax cut line that even Fox News said was not true

Wait until Obama has to speak extemporaneously. He's too easily flustered without a teleprompter.

Are you kidding me? Look at the biggest douche bag to ever take office, the GOP's pride and joy, BUSH! He gets flustered with or without a telepromter. Hell even McCain can't even spit out sentences properly when put on the spot. Lets face it, the republican's have F'd up this country for 8 damn years and its definitely time for a change.

Obama's speech was well delivered... as expected... but it
was nothing more than the same old tired Liberal rhetoric.
Nothing new there...

The problem with all the euphoria generated by the speech is
that you don't get to give speeches to a stadium full of true
believers every day. Sooner or later he'll have to go head
to head with McCain and we all know the guy can barely put a
sentence together without a teleprompter.

As for McCain choosing Palin in an attempt to pander to Clinton
supporters... well... that's plainly silly... Palin and Clinton
couldn't be more polar opposites politically. I doubt any Clinton
supporters will rush to vote for McCain because of Palin.

Many Clinton supporters will vote for McCain but it's because
they see him as the more centrist candidate.

You're kidding right? Obama is going to trash McCain once they get one-on-one and we might even see McCain's famous temper come out when he gets flustered. You have a Harvard law school magna cum laude graduate going up against a fifth from the bottom of his class graduate.
And then as if that wasn't good enough, you have Biden going against this lady from Alaska. That won't be fair at all but will be entertaining. I wonder if she has even been to most of the states.

Excellent analyisis, if you going to accuse the McCain campign of pandering to anyone with his VP pick it would be to Conservatives, who are becoming re-energized by this pick.

She will mop the floor with Biden

One thing that stood out about O'bama's speech and it was an excellent speech. I love public speaking myself and this man has a gift for it no doubt. But one thing that stood out was how he said he would debate McCain anytime meanwhile all summer he ducked from debates McCain asked for?

It's amazing how people get caught up in the emotion and disgard facts

You obviously haven't watched Mr. Obama in the debate format.

Keep your eye on Sarah Palin... she isn't gong to be afraid of Joe Biden.
Biden will also not be able to ferociously attack her... wouldn't look right.
Heck... standing next to her HE will suddenly look like the tired old white
guy.. lol

You may not be able to see through the blinders of your partisanship but
this pick presents a variety of problems to the Obama campaign.

Hilarious how anyone who doesn't even know who this lady is is so confident she will be able to hang with a US Senator who is the current chair of the Foreign Relations Committee and former chair of the Judiciary Committee. While I don't know anything about her as well this will be a little different than speaking in front of a PTA group. I think her true purpose here is to comfort Cindy McCain once they lose by reliving their rodeo queen and beauty queen pageants.

Mccain pick was a smart pick, but was she the best available person for the position, or did he pick her just to win an election???Obama if he wanted a pick to win an election would had put Hillary, but he put the best available person for the Position in Biden...The best pick for Mccain would have been Rodney, it would had at least made me take a second look at Mccain...Anyways my 2 cents...I love how people can not look at things objectively without spin, really what is wrong with The some Republicans in the outpost... You are putting Obama down because he can communicate, do you expect a guy you can drink a beer with like Bush... Putting Obama down cause he is smart, i want the president to be a smart guy that can speak... Obama was top of University, he is a pretty smart guy...Guys that is not a negative is a positive...

I never put Obama down read above I actually complimented him. But I don't care how smart anyone is. I care about their positions. Bush may not speak well in public but is a very intelligent man also. He doesn't appear that way to you, because you dont like his postions and how he speaks.

I would vote for a deaf dumb and blind mute who dropped out of high school if they shared my positions.

Don't confuse scholastic merits with common sense, and I am not implying that Obama doesn't have common sense he is a very bright, highly educated and well spoken man who means well.

I don't agree with his socialistic views and I credit his education for instilling some of those views in him at least in part.

Any attempt as to explain the "logic" behind this pick is futile. I understand that refraining to do so has to be difficult for those of you who are far on the right, but I truly feel that we need to accept the inevitable, and begin to find a common ground to tackle important issues that are strangling our nation.

Don't worry if Obama wins the left will have control of everything house senate and whitehouse this country he will be able to get done everything he wants with little to no opposition. The supreme court will be gone for a very long time and you wont even recognize America anymore. Will end up in such a mess, we will be primed for the next Reagan Revolution

Nixon and Reagan speechwriter Pat Buchanon said best convention speech he had ever seen.

Mike Murphy, former Mccain strategist said if he were still working for Mccain I would be texting out, "Houston, We Have A Problem."

one of these McCain VP threads... look around.

Come now... let's not attempt an argument in comparing experience here. THAT would be beyond futile. Doubt if any sane person could make it sound believable at any stretch. So please.... let's not do this. I actually feel sorry for Palin, because there will be no mercy for her. The under-exposure and lack of national experience will strip her from any viability for the US VP position. There is no defense here. It's not fun anymore. Did McCain wish to bail out, but couldn't find an alternative manner in which to do it. Makes you wonder... also, does Palin have a 4 month old Down Syndrome baby?? What in the world were they thinking??
