I truly wonder what the clients would think if they read some of the post's in these "Appraiser, Comp Check, Play Ball, Etc." threads?
I can't imagine they would trust some of us to help them make the biggest financial decision in their lives if they were to read some of the immature, childish, garbage that is posted in some of these threads.
I will be the first to admit that I have fallen into the nonsense more than once but have made a promise to myself to carry myself in a manner that would be productive to myself and my clients as well as the BO.
It's crazy that some of these threads go 10-20 pages, 90% being insults to one another. It's sad that when things were great in the business, everyone was helpful to one another. Now everyone insults the other. |

| You are right, I do try to stay away from those threads. Sometimes, it just gets too hard and I post on them. I will try again to stick to helping others and learning on BO, which is why I am here. |

I couldn't have said it better. Words are twisted and the play on words erode the point, which needs to be, do your job and do it right. Do it without policing and leave that up to those that are in the position to do so. If you run across an illegal act, report it, get over it and move on.
There is no point for us to all gather at the bar, wring our hands and moan about what to do next to fix the world. I would find a discussion kicking around marketing ideas far more productive. |

Is this repentance for calling your own appraiser a FAT SLOB on here ? |

Sometimes (and this applies to both sides of the street) professionalism takes a back seat to passion...sadly... |

I will really try hard to be nice to appraisers, even if they are snibbling , whiney , no talent losers.....LOL.....JUST KIDDING. You have to admit, it does pass the day or night faster.I just want to fast foward till it's better.Since that is not going to happen I am changing my ways(a little). Peace to all.

Alex,
Unfortunately brother, things are not getting better, in todays market we have to make them better. Deals are not going to fall into your lap the way they used to back in the good ol' days. I remember sitting VIP with Dennis Rodman and Madonna in Scores buying them Magnums of Crystal Rose' watching Jon Claude Van Dam get his ass whooped by Chuck Zito. Those were the young and crazy days. Now I get a rush coaching my Sons hockey games. Things change, people change, lifestyles change. Either we change the way we do things to keep up or we get left in the dust. Fact is, there is power in numbers no matter the scenario. My point of this thread was to try to get most on the same page and work together to get rockin again. I miss the SL500 and the 740IL, dont get me wrong, I still drive a new CTS and pay the mortgae every month, I have a few time shares in Aruba, but you cant enjoy them the same when you have to wonder where the next deal is coming from to pay for them.
That being said, lets put our heads together and get creative and get movin again. 60k a month is so much better than 10k. Lets spend less time bashing eachother and more time discussing some marketing ideas and closing loans. I got my eye on a Z06 and my goal is to own it next spring.
Call me.... |

So Toto-you're whining about all the whining on BO?
Just kidding. Hopefully somebody learned something and strangely I feel like I made a couple of friends even though we often misunderstand each other.
Subsequently, the level of concern and prayers I recieved when my brother died was unexpected and meant a lot to me.
I wish you guys the best-I've learned a lot here and hope to learn and share much more. |

Honestly life has been a little tough lately because my family back east is having a hell of a time. As you know, my little brother Mike died two weeks ago, my Dad has lung cancer AND alzheimer's and my brother Mark was recently diagnosed with Huntington's Disease. We had so many good years with good health. I guess we were overdue for all this to happen.
I've made a decision though to live life to the fullest anyway so that I can be happy and help my family get through the hard times. Life is for living.
I may not be on the Outpost as much (no promises though)because I'm going to try to get out more...social time, more time in nature and doing things I like to do. That's the plan. All the prayers people have been saying for me and my family must be working because I'm feeling like I can handle everything with God's help.
Long answer, sorry Alex. You asked!
