Good Ad! I see McCain got his High School pal Moses to appear in it! That should appeal to the young voters!

Is this a REAL ad? Holy sh*t.

If this is the best that John McCain's people can come up with ... then he might as well go ahead and give the election to Obama.

Is the American voter this stupid ... and shallow?

If so ... we're so screwed ... and all hope is dead.

Here's what a real ad looks like .... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8066429977125190937&ei=Kp2uSPm0CISUqQK7-LndAw&q=ron+paul+high+tide+promo&vt=lf&hl=en

The Democratic attack machine isn't even warmed up yet.

McCain is doomed ... and the GOP is about to commit political suicide if they nominate him at the convention. You'll see.

I'm just saying ... the attack ads haven't even started yet.

Better hope the Clintons don't jump in and unleash their minions.

By November, McCain will look retarded.

I don't think it's going to run on TV, but I think its pretty funny. The clips of Obama, if you listen to what he's saying, are astonishing.

But seriously, Obama is an empty suit. If he doesn't have a teleprompter he looks like a bumbling fool (have you seen the video?). The differences between the two are striking, and will only become moreso when you see them on the same stage together.

Sadly, most voters who consider themselves "conservative" and Republican are blinded by some inexplicable loyalty to those in power who have an R next to their name. They think it's un-Patriotic to hold your leaders accountable for their ACTIONS.

You make a good point LP. The party got away from its principles after Newt retired. I think they may be starting to get the message but it hasn't really sunk in yet. But what are you gonna do? McCain is conservative, and he's always been the fiscally conservative type even when the others were on their spending sprees. I'm not sure what your beef is with McCain unless I'm mis understanding it. Just think how out of control things would be with a filibusterproof senate and liberal president. Is teaching wayward Republicans a lesson worth that?

Yes, it's worth it. These "new" Republicans need to be sent packing. They are bleeding us ... SLOWLY.

I'm sure you've heard the Boiling a Frog analogy, right?

I'd rather get it over with already.

McCain wants to continue on this path to ruin by spending $1 TRILLION per year maintaining a global military empire of 700 bases in 130 different countries.

This insanity is going to DESTROY us ... financially.

All empires end for financial reasons ... and America will be next in line if we don't wake up and understand the elementary fact that history does indeed repeat itself.

We would be wise to take action now, before it's too late.

I say send the GOP a message.

Settling for the lesser of two evils is getting old and if we don't make a stand ... nothing will EVER change.

Someday, we'll have to face our grandchildren and answer the question, "What did you do when America was on the brink?"

Will we be proud of our answer, or not?

This matters.

Ok, I hear you now. Your the "lets lock everything down and stick our heads in the sand type". I'm poking some fun, but I actually get where your coming from, I just disagree. Keeping a strong military, adds stability to the entire planet and its a net plus. Its also one of the few things our government does well. There are plenty of other ways to cut the budget. Things that are spent on that aren't enumerated in The Constitution. Nuclear power is another big issue. We should supply our own electricity with nothing but nuclear and hydro and export our coal. That would virtually wipe out our trade deficit. It would also free up natural gas to burn in cars, furthering our independence from foreign sources of oil. Obama won't even say the word nuclear. I hear you on the lesson, lets keep the Republicans out of Congress until they really, really get it, but we can't just give a bunch of children the keys to the car and the liquor cabinet.

I couldn't have said it better - this oozes from every post to the point you just stop reading because the same thing has been said over and over. As someone else here said, Ron Paul's supporters actually did some damage to his image. I know I am not the only one that was seriously considering him until my attention zeroed in on the insistant rhetoric from his *enthusiastic supporters (and well beyond this site). I think its great to pursue your interests with passion, but not with intolerance that only one opinion is valid. It's not democracy when someone says their way is the only right way.

GOP CORE OF PRINCIPALS??????

C'mon, the GOP hasnt had a core of principles since before Barry Goldwater!!

Im wrong. The principles are:

a) They never saw a war they didnt like. Blood for oil, restart the Cold War(Bush), and plow trillions 0f $$ more into the Military-Industrial-Complex. Fight on and on for years in Vietnam, so the defence contractors could get richer. Promote the threat of middle east war & terror to bump up the price of oil even higher.
b) Deregulation schemes, free-market economics. This means unleashing the chicken hawks to raid the Henhouse-Unmitigated Wall Street Greed, CEO's raping & plundering their companies-"Pump and dumps"- burning shareholders, raiding pension funds, etc. Enron, energy fraud, savings and loan scandal, our new mortgage scam where big banks
put mortgage brokers on the street, on and on it goes, ad nauseum.
c) Make the rich richer, eat the poor, destruction of the middle class, anti labor laws, let the business owners off the hook on hiring illegal immigrants, corporate welfare.

Sure the Democratic Party *****!! But it looks like they are the lesser of two evils.
Bash Ron Paul all you want, but he is a true patriot who speaks the truth.

Your basic GOP voter is;

A) Born again Bible Bigots, and other hate groups
B) Rednecks-The so called "Reagan Democrats" who voted themselves out of jobs. And, will do it again!
C) The rich, and wannabe rich who own 7 homes or more. (joke)
D) Ditto-heads, whom have undergone Rush-limbotomies, and cannot think for themselves anymore, and other "Sheeple".

Mc Same is 4 more years of destructive Bush policies, a new Cold War, and economic problems we have not seen since the Great Depression.

As usual, the GOP attack dogs are ripping at Obama, with lies, innuendos, and Swift Boats. This is really disgraceful. Now Billary wants to pirate delegates at the Democratic Convention! Remember the DNC at Chicago in '68? Talk about a disgrace, she tears Obama down, then tells folks to support him! OMG!

I hate this two party sytem! Dont you? I really dont like either candidate, to be frank.
But at least lets be fair to Obama, and not pre-judge him based upon smear crap.

Tell me Zapperkid, do you actually read the news? Or just bad email chains and bumperstickers on Volvo wagons? How is anything you claim newsworthy?

Oh- it's not newsworthy since pretty much everything you claim is just general ancedotal evidence that anyone who has read the news dismisses.

Not even Moveon.org rants on this topics anymore...

No going on-

The biggest problem with Obama, and I'm certain you will not be able to answer me without a personal attack is that:

HE IS AN UNKNOWN QUANTITY WITH A QUESTIONABLE BACKGROUND SINCE HE ONLY HAS 120 DAYS IN OFFICE AND NO REAL PROOF OF ANY POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY IN GOVERNMENT.

You see, promotion of class warfare as you so proudly subscribe in is the only thing the Dems have to sell to.

You're no different than the people you claim are ruining this country.

Preach on brother!

My whole life the Repubs have worked the fear factor. Class warfare, subtle racial warfare, and their favorite tactic, the big bad boogeyman of Communism/Terrorism.

It's good business to create phony threats and scare the electorate into thinking the party of National Defense will take care of you. Are we safer now than eight years ago? Of course not. But, income inequity is at an all time high, as corporate taxes receipts are at an all time low. Nice work, if you can get it!

Randy,

Yes Randy, Obama may seem like an unknown quantity.
But, Mc Same, is, unfortunately, a known quantity.
And its not pretty!

His role in the KEATING FIVE savings and loan scandal will become known soon.
His flip-flops are notorious. He is a maverick Repub posing as a conservative.

Do I read the news? Of course. And the news is censored a great deal, and is spit out as PAP for the masses of sheeple. Randy, the things I mentioned are HISTORY, not news. They are not anecdotes. They are historical facts by now. Do some research, Randy, and stop being such a hard-headed politico.

None of our opinions are going to change the outcome of anything. Just look for the truth hard enough and you will find it.

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

"WALL STREET GREED! EVIL RICH! TAX CUTS! HALIBURTON! BLA BLA BLA BLA!"

OK Randy, I never said Dylan could sing!

Darkstar,

It is hypothetical nonsense to judge Obama in this light. Hes not President, Bush is!
The crisis with Poland and our missles there is a NEEDLESS crisis, that Bush has invented to stir up the Cold War, and pump up the price of oil. Russia feels very threatened now, its like the Cuban Missle Crisis in '62!! To Russia. Now Europe feels very threatened as they depend on Russia for oil and 90% of their natural gas. Is it in the interests of our people to have a "Nuclear Showdown"?

Who would make a better president when 40 million people are out of work, and 30 million homeless in the U.S.???? Mc Same or Obama?

I personally do not want Mc Sames shaky hand on the nuclear trigger when the kitty hits the fan!

Those you do not learn from history, are condemned to repeat it.

Lets all go have a nice weekend!

If this is the best that John McCain's people can come up with ... then he might as well go ahead and give the election to Obama.

Is the American voter this stupid ... and shallow?

If so ... we're so screwed ... and all hope is dead.

Here's what a real ad looks like .... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8066429977125190937&ei=Kp2uSPm0CISUqQK7-LndAw&q=ron+paul+high+tide+promo&vt=lf&hl=en

Ron Paul is not running! You have two choices; Which one are you going to vote for? Ron Paul in 2012!

Ron Paul is still running for the GOP nomination ... and the GOP convention will occur about two weeks from now.

If we fail to convince the delegation in Minnesota to do the right thing and Ron Paul is not on the ticket come November, then I'll either WRITE HIM IN or I'll vote 3rd party.

But, if they choose McCain at the convention, then there is no way in H*LL I'm gonna let the GOP get away with it by going along and voting for McCain as the lesser of two evils.

Keep in mind that John McCain was dead BROKE 8 months ago ... and now he's the nominee?

If it smells like sh*t, then it's probably sh*t.

McCain is a media creation ... just like Obama.

I will no longer vote for the lesser of two evils.

I'm done with it, and you should be too ... by now.

um, it's Russian doctorine that is making them respond to this - we put up a defense system, not offensive to shield the possibility of attack.

2nd thing, the Cuban Missle Crisis - the Commies wanted to put up silo's in Cuba.

We need to have an understanding- as an American Citizen I don't care if it's "fair" or not - You're implying we were in the wrong on going aggressive against the Soviets?

Like I said, I don't care about fair if someone wants to aim nukes at us. Fry them first.

No, we don't have nukes going up in Poland so throw that argument away before you start.

KNOWING is always better than not!...And the Georgia crisis could be the final nail in Obama's coffin, he has ZERO international and/or military experience...Just bad timing for him, Americans have made it clear that under 'these' conditions, McCain is the man...If we didn't have so many int'l issues to deal with, it may be different, it's not about who is better or not, it's about who's right for NOW...

For your reference, Darryl from GA, Sen. Obama has been a law professor for 12 years at one of the more conservative and highly respected law schools in this country. He actually thinks before giving an answer, rather than spewing the party line pablum, to be lapped up by the great unwashed. And yes, I'm referring to you. Again, welcome to the BO!

If we were looking for the next five star general, McCain would be our man. But like Patton, as well as our current President, without a war to fight there isn't a whole lot of substance.

His title was honorary. To my knowledge he never taught a class.

That's the reason a northern liberal hasn't been elected president in 67 years. We know you mean it when you say "great unwashed". The problem is the people you consider inferior to yourself constitute a majority.
