You guys should really be aware of how much your info will come up via internet searches. If your name aprears in a thread, it will be one of the top results if you 'google' your name.

Similairly, any 'catch phrases' you may post, when 'googled' will pop up in the top results. This can be good or bad depending what you want out of this site and/or post about.

I suppose it doesnt matter if you dont use your real name on here, but take notice, this can be good for your business exposure or it can make you look like a real idiot if you are contstantly agruing with people about things like religion or berading people.

I noticed this ahwile back but its amazing how high these threads pop up. I googled "top mortgage broker arizona"....the FIRST result, TOP of page is the broker directory for AZ on here and goes right to my profile for instance.

So use to your advantage if you want clients to find you and/or just be carefull what you post!

Dat's why I use a soo-doe-nim (sic)
Too much info on the net and from bad experiences with folks who disagreed with me and then turned into stalkers.

Pseudonyms are a good idea, but if you wanted to contact someone you could be 'outed' anyway.

Don't forget the great Google cached archives. I've found many old and defunct web sites are indexed & cached.

I used to stop in several times a day for the knowledge I could find and the wee bit I could impart. Then the "trainers' took it over and trashed it.

Other forums will ban you for such blatant spam.

It's a better thing this forum can help promote us ALL by taking advantage of it's setup...

I don't mind a little self-promotion in a sig IF the person is actually giving some real advice or instruction. It's the A-holes that post 10x to every thread so they get more airtime. That is part of what ruined this niche. How many times must they say "Thank You", or "You've got mail"?

They know whom they are and we know too! Some believe the Announcement section doesn't apply to them, or they feel no one reads it so they should be able to post where they want. That raises the question, if they are that shameless on a public forum, can you trust what they say?

Doesn't that little RED button work any more?

CAUTION! TV talk below:

You're not friends with that guy Jeff Ryan on Flipping Out are you? He's a real work of art but we enjoy the show, especially "Elaine", his assistant.

Gotta luv the drama! Is everyone in SOCAL like that? Those Million Dollar Agents are strange indeed.

Rita! How do ordinary working class people afford a $500K shack of 700 sq ft? Everytime we see one on Flip This House, we ask that question.(repeatedly) Does everyone have a $2600 P&I ?

Haha I don't think Jeff Ryan would have the time of day for the likes of me. I don't watch the show but I know of it.

No-not everyone in So.California is like that of course. The wages and salaries are higher out here, for sure and there is a lot more opportunity out here than in many places. An average couple can afford $2,600/month, but need to factor in yearly taxes, possible HOA fees and maintenance of course. If my boyfriend and I got married we could pull it off but....I'm not ready to commit to marriage or a house payment at this point. :)

And of course there are a lot of people barely getting by on a couple grand a month.
