I posted a posted a potential referral on the AR site to establish a relationship with an out of town real estate agent. 28 agents contacted looking for the lead- 1st time buyer, 250k purchase.
At least we can do refi's and don't have to deal with listing appointments with folks who think their home is worth 150% of the actual current market value. |

| The worst part is when you submit an offer for a home at "market value" which the owner or agent says is way too low because their asking price is a lot more. |

| I know we gripe alot about real estate agents, but at least they pass licensing requirements and they have to drive clients all over with high gas prices... |

I passed licensing requirements...can I gripe about them now?
Seriously, why are they not out driving renters around to look at all the homes on the market right now? With all the homes to sell to FTHB's some Realtors should be busier than ever... |

I passed licensing requirements as well, and used to teach a Continuing Education Real Estate Course. The point is many of the people in the mortgage business previously did not, yet all real estate agents do.(Not that it is a hard test)
I gripe about realwhores as well, just trying to make the point that life isn't so rosey from their perspective either, and it opened my eyes to see 28 agents jump on 1 lead posting like a ravenous dog on a bone. |

| I'm really surprised at how many of the Real Estate Offices have survived so far. Some of these offices have huge overhead and I know they're not doing enough business to even pay the bills. |

True- I worked for a major independent real estate org that did Real estate, Mtg, Title, and Insurance. RE was the least profitable(~$75 profit per unit after all said and done) and basically was a lead supplier for the other services. |
