| Who has used them? What were the terms of the vouchers? What results did you yield? |

I used them when I first entered the business in 04-05. If my memory serves me correctly the company was located in Tampa, FL. The company I worked for received a box of them and offered them as an incentive to conduct a mortgage transaction, and honestly they were a waste of time and I always felt uneasy about offering them. Seemed too gimmicky.
If someone needs a loan, the prospect of a free vacation seemed to have abolutely no affect in increasing that need.

| Also, when you give a "free" voucher to your client and it turns out that they want their credit card number and put them into a fleabag motel... you'll lose a referral source. |

| Before you even consider, google the provider for the voucher. I was given one a few years ago, and I did some research on the company, and there were major consumer complaints online about the company. |

I got one of those vouchers once for a trip to Orlando, or Las Vegas. No open dates were available for Orlando so we had to choose Las Vegas. We had to send a $100 refundable registration fee. We were open to any date on the calendar, but every time we put in for a date it was booked. It was a very involved process only done by mail each time to request a date. We put in for 11 dates over a 5 month period before we were informed that date was available. It was supposed to be a 3 day 2 night package. Here's what they consider 3 days/2 nights:
Our flight was to leave home at 4:00 PM, a transfer at 10:30, arrive in Vegas at 12:15 AM. (3:15 AM EST). That was day 1.
So if we wanted to get any sleep we might be up by noon to enjoy Vegas. But better not stay out too late on Day 2 because....
Day 3 you have to check in at the airport at 5:00 AM to board the flight leaving at 6:20. A layover till 1:15, a second layover until 7:30, arrive home at 10:30 PM. That is day 3 of your wonderful getaway.
We said forget it, then had to fight for 6 months to get back our "refundable $100 deposit". |

I'm looking at vouchers which are 3 day 2 night stay at 5 star resorts in a number of locations. There is no bait and switch as it's time share related. The rooms are really nice suites. The free stay is conditional upon the person redeeming the voucher attending a 90 min time share sales presentation at the end of which they can check in and start their vacation. Airfare is not included.
In my mind it seems pretty good the black out dates are published the the rooms normally go for well over $150 a night and it's only a 90 min presentation before check in, without the need for Credit Card for deposits, etc. |

What didn't you understand about MarkIFC's post? Let this voucher idea go, the whole thing stinks. |

If you are confident the experience for you clients will be a good one, I say go a head. You may want to reserve a stay for yourself in order to get familiar with the booking process.
I also suggest sending the vouchers as part of your post close package. I would not use them as incentives. |

You get what you pay for.....
And, I agree,
It could cost you business.
If you go that route, try it first yourself. |

Wow, a free stay at a time share facility so you can get hammered with a sales pitch. If I received one I would throw it in the trash- I get them in the mail and on the phone and do the same.
No value. |

Find out for yourself. You are in or around Orlando and I'm sure Orlando is one of the destinations you can chose from.
Take a voucher for yourself and set up a vacation.
If you are looking for these to translate into $$$ for you it is worth the little money it may cost you to find out the truth about travel vouchers. |
