I know I will open myself up to a lot of funny comments. But my clients has lan as security that appraised at US $300,000,000. Is there any chance for any kind of loan in Haiti. The purpose is to start a very upscale comminity with a base price of US $1,000,000 per home. I have called some European banks, I was hoping maybe France would be intertested but they said that Haiti is absolutely no possibility at the moment.

Haiti is OUT as far as U.S. lenders are concerned. ZERO political and economic stability and "appraisals" mean nothing. The only possibility with this deal is to "catch" an unsuspecting private investor!

Thanks Richard, that was what I thought. I have been there once and it does look like hell on earth. I do not wish to put any country down, but it's a harsch place where 80% of the population do not have anything to eat.
