Well since 2012 is approaching quite fast, I would like to state that:

I would be so pissed if sub-prime mortgages caused the end of the world!!!

From the looks of things, government (over)spending, the dwindling oil supply and "global warming" it looks like we're in for a fun ride for the next 5 years.

You ever think someone just got tired and decided to stop at 2012? I mean think about it...you are the calender maker guy and you've studied the stars, etc. and then you have to write down thousands of years of info. Think they just got tired. LOL

Yeah, but instead of scrolls of papyrus or carved into stone it can go on a flash drive!

I'm not worried, I read that a guy just made a 10k year clock. I think that buys us a little more time.

Look where the Mayans are today. Are you going to take their word for anything?

I think Nostradamus and the Bible prophesied some major event sometime in the next century.

And the world was supposed to end in 1973, 1984 and 2000

Probably more dates out there.

We made it past all those

What does "The End of the World" really mean? It can mean so many different things...End of an Era, End of a Rulership....so many things.

But has anyone read up on Polar Shifts? interesting stuff!

The reason that the Mayan Calendar stops at 2012 is that their mathematical system stopped there. It restarts from the year 1 again.
