People here have stated they hate CNN. Finding unbiased news sources isn't easy. I would like some new suggestions.

My current favorite television news sources are.....

Financial News : Bloomberg

US News : CNN or MSNBC, don't overly care for either but they both seem more centered than Fox

International News : the BBC

Humor News : The Daily Show

Most of my news viewing is limited to Bloomberg and the BBC. I like the BBC's reporting style much better than the typical sizzle and no steak American version of CNN, MSNBC, Fox and the cheesy local news.

Who does everyone turn to for their news?

I like the BBC and CBC news outlets along with Bloomberg

Also read the online news from Austraiian newspapers

IT is sad we have to read foreign news organizations to get a clear picture of the truth

All news sources are "biased" it just depends what you want to hear. The Nation (a fairly liberal magazine) is a pretty good source for news, and NPR is pretty good. The thing I hate about CNN, FOX, etc. is that they are just into stories that sell instead of what is really "newsworthy"

CNBC is pretty good for financial news, but if you ever listen to "marketplace" it has some amazing information about the markets and how what goes on affect real people.

For International, the BBC is pretty good, but check out NPR's "The World" program.

Some people think Rush, Sean or the other guys are their source of news, although I am more conservative than anything else these shows in no way constitute news.

BBC, and bloomberg and believe it or not the daily show with John Stweart...If i want to see what the right is talking about anything on fox, and if i want to see the left point of view Keith Oberman...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I rarely watch CNN or MSNBC. I find I watch FOX more than any other national news channel.

For financial news I watch CNBC and Bloomberg, and will catch BBC here and there and to watch Top Gear.

I have never watched television news with the expectation that news should be unbiased. Our news is run by corporations who's upmost responsibilty is to shareholders. Ratings is where it is at for them.

So you must be more interested in Short Skirts then news.

Walter Kronkite was ugly and the most respected news individual.

Fox news has women showing legs all the time and not really respected by most of America.

Twenty percent of Cable viewers is less then 10 percent of USA.

So number one on Cable is not number one in America.

LOL, I don't watch Fox or any other news channel for the women. I don't find them attractive at all. The women of CNN are far better looking. I tend to watch Fox out of habit more than anything else.

Trust me I am very up to date on the news.

Are you a woman? What man is less interested in short skirts than news? :)

The best is when their is a story or issue happening that they are talking about, and all are saying different things or reporting complete opposite info from the others, lol. I would flip back and forth through the channels like wtf?!?!?

I really jumped on the Faux Bashing Banwagon when they said the fires last October were started by Terrorists

That is not news reporting, that is fear mongering. And it was made up.

I only use the Broker Outpost for my news source. So far I have learned that appraisers don't like comp checks, Ron Paul followers are loonie and Kyle is sometimes cranky.

I hate to say it, but Fox is the closest to the center.

All the others are way left. Also, the Redeye is pretty funny.

Redeye is hilarious

They say things on that show that wouldn't work for "mainstream TV"

CNBC is by far the best for anything finance/economy related.

Fox is the best otherwise, unlike CNN, their approach is "we report, you decide".

I love CNBC. So professional and informative. Here's a great example.

I've found that unplugging my TV and chopping it into little pieces and feeding it through the wood chipper was the best news I ever had. I read industry trades and internet for anything reliable.

The problem is that there is literally NO good financial news on the TV. Bloomberg ***** in SO many ways, and CNBC ***** in all the other ways. Fox isn't even on the radar because they employed Tucker Carlson.

Anything with "human interest" or "interview with an old CEO no one cares about and whose company isn't driving the global economy" or weather or Right vs. Left shows, or opinion is pointless.
I just want facts, unbiased analysis, and little color. Maybe I should just stick to reading my own blog.

I can't believe someone said Fox was the closest to the middle. Wow...
Well, I haven't turned them on in so long, maybe things have changed, but they were perennially labeled as the rightest of the right a year or two ago.

On TV, it really comes down to CNBC versus Bloomberg. As much as I hate SO many things about CNBC's website and several things about their TV, their 8AM-5PM EST broadcast is about 127 times better than bloomberg.

I've been watching bloomberg at my new office because I don't have cable yet, but I watched CNBC at my old office. Literally, I can't even make it through a whole day with bloomberg on. The level of intelligence of their anchors is rickin fidiculous. Not everyone is a Mensa member over at CNBC either, but they have a far better balance of men to women, and the male anchor (Dylan) at least has some testosterone and personality.

Maria bartoromo and Erin Burnett come off much more educated and in tune than Bloomberg females. There is a significantly higher amount of interaction among the personalities so whether or not you can call it intelligent, at least there is debate going on. Dylan has a great personality for an anchor IMHO. Steve Liesman has been reemed for bogus reporting by many, but I've heard him offer some insights on the MBS market that other newscasters wouldn't even understand.

Herb Greenburg is a great contribution most times. I could take or leave Cramer. Fast money is a nice way to wind down the day. I feel like more breaking news comes out more often with more emphasis on CNBC.

Most traders hate all of this stuff though. And I only use it to keep tabs on what "the masses" are seeing and thinking because the attitudes either reflected by or created by major news are important to trading.

The best news is a pay for subscription live feed. It's about 2k a month from Reuters, and can be less elsewhere. This is not a shameless plug for a site that I write for, but about 2 months ago we ponied up for a live feed with redistribution rights. I helped the website owner select the categories that automatically pull to the front page. So although it didn't used to be timely, now the front page of www.mortgagenewsdaily.com is a great place to get the economic news as it redistributes the articles from the live feed very quickly, not to mention having links to any new blog post I write that come up instantaneously.

Other than that, FT, WSJ, MW, and calculated risk are all good.

In print, I never read anything daily, but weekly, The Economist does not even have a close runner up. Granted, it will all be stuff you've heard before if you are keeping an eye on the news throughout the week, but it's a great synthesis and reflection and about as timely as any magazine on the planet. Highly recommend it.

or just call me and I'll tell you what's going on...

i am amazed that the bbc has so much about us. When i made my single trip to london, i read a paper and it was filled with americas news and pop culture. we cool! but NPR does a great job with guest and open forum questions to come to your own conclusions.
