I received a call tonight from a nice young man from Apollo Funding & Realty in San Diego inquiring about whether I knew about loan modification and how it may benefit me.

First thing I need to say, is the guy was knowledgable about the service and his company. I am not going to put his name out there, but he really was a good representative for his company. Early on, he did say that they had an almost 100% success rate of improving the borrower's position in the loans. He also said that there was a significant guarantee available.

We talked about general stuff, then I asked about the fee. He said it was $5,000.00 paid up front. At that point he didn't know the loan size.
I didn't tell him what I do for a living, cuz he didn't ask...til the end.

He asked about my employment and I told him I worked for Loansafe. He knew exactly who that is.

After that we had a nice conversation, but he did readily admit when I pressed him on it, that $5,000 is an extremely high cost considering there was no requirement for attorney involvement, no NOD, foreclosure prevention, etc.

Just a little food for thought

I have had people call me before who didn't know their a** from their elbow telling me that they could take my fixed mortgage... get me cash out, lower my debt amount and interest rate as well as combine all of my debt into my mortgage that is about 80k upside down! I love telemarketers!
