Anyone know about this industry?

With all the FC, these homes have to be secured. I think there could be a business opportunity there.

Here's an email from a "property preservation group.
Even though HUD has pay guidelines (you can find this on HUD site)
The companies that send you work, make you bid on it. If the job is for $300.00 they want you to give them 25-40% of the contract fees.
Insurance will run you around $1750.00 per yr. This was a very lucrative business at one time. It's been around forever. look up first american title- property preservation. The Texas office will sign you on. The contracts can take you months to get paid on.
They will expect you to drive 50 miles to do an occupancy inspection for $35-40. Can't even cover gas let alone give that mob the 25-40% kick back. Really think this one through.

Start thread from the bottom up.

Did you sign paperwork authorizing the reduction of fee's? What's
the name of this company?

getting a regular job with a regular paycheck. This business has
become very cutthroat and is not loyal to its inspectors, run the
other way as fast as you can. If you do need any info or help feel
free to ask me.

andhave signed up with two companies. Have not gotten too far with
eitherone so far. Does it usually take a good while to get signed
up,trained, and finally get work to start coming in? What is the best
wayto go about this? I have to actually get it up and going or just
goget a "real job" and dependable weekly check and forget about it.
Youguys were suggested to me as a possible source of good
information. Thanks for any help, suggestions, etc. I am just starting
(obviously)and am in North Idaho, which is mostly VERY small towns,
far apart andlots of rural areas with only corridor type access, some
of it on dirtroads. Much of it impassable in winter. I am wondering
if this is abusiness to be in in this area.
