It seems that every day I get on BO I see someone else who has suplemented their income or recently become rich and is now leaving the mortgage business. All they need is me and their three friends. Come on guys, I understand that the business is tough and there are some really legitimate things out there (I do sell insurance, may times used in MLM, and PPL) but enough of the testimonials and how I can make a million dollars and no longer do loans.

I agree! I'm getting tired of it myself. I'm also sick of the re-directed links that go to the posters MLM site.

especially when the poster keeps posting the same thing 2x in one day.
I have hit the little red face, but nothing is happening.

I liked it when Darin owned the sight, he would have not allowed it.

i want one to prove " i have personally sold 20k with of income all by myself this month. the product works!, added benefit is you can then recruit. but first get in the field and prove your self then call your friends!"

Instead its, who do you know, who is in your family, lets call them all and get them under you right now, the bigger group you get the better.

What about the product?

Over the years I have never known anyone that went into a MLM deal that made any appreciable money; not one. In 22 years of doing mortgages I have yet to see one person reporting anything above a pittance on their taxes from a MLM. I have seen people lose money though.

let me take another approach on this subject:

The only thing separating these dreamers from success is a multimillion dollar marketing budget.

They are broke, so they pitch a dream. That is all they can do. BO is free for the attempt.

If they had millions, they might be promoting Vitaminwater. Or the next Poland Spring water. etc.

I offer that the poor souls we (and I) deride on BO are pocketless versions of the Pepsi Cola execs, ad gurus, and automobile manufacturers hawking the next stupid model.

We are impatient with them, mostly because they are naive, lacking in persuasion, and looking for an easy solution to their inglorious financial status.

Of hundreds, one might be a winner. Make that one in two thousand?

I cannot believe I am giving those hucksters any leeway, but I am. For this moment.

Usually I feel you are spot on. I have to disagree with you on this. Successful people have dreams and goals that they set and achieve by implementing a plan, and revising as needed. These folks were sold someone else's dream, and feel that they will simply sell it to someone else...the only goal is "get rich quick" with little to no real plan or work. Just my opinion.

Why I posted that I'll never know.

I may just delete the foolish thing. Maybe you could do the same and spare my embarrassment.

Maybe IB/Darin should put a link to craigslist between "annoucements" and "lender reviews" with a discription of "SPAM HERE".

Speaking of MLM. Have you been hit up with First United lately? I have someone that has owed me $1,500 for a year and a half that keeps calling me about it, telling me how awesome it is, yet after seven months of doing it he hasn't made even a $100 payment which is what I suggested after nearly a year of excuses about why he couldn't pay me back "just yet".
