I've been in the business for sometime now and the cost of credit reports was the least of my concerns.
After my company closed I decided to go on my own.
At 10-15 bucks a pop, it adds up fast.
Before pulling I ask all the questions,
Have you looked at your credit recently?
Any lates?
BK?
Foreclosure?
I use Advantage, and have option to pull one score for 3 bucks but it gives me all the liabilities and the history.
Problem is that so many people don't have a clue about their scores or they are way off.
I actually had a few people tell me that they thought the LOWER the fico the better.
What??? Seriously???
But this is becoming a problem and I want to see what every one else is doing to try to keep the cost down. |

| I used to tell them to get credit monitoring and get the scores. If the scores were ok, I would run credit. |

Maybe you should consider implementing an application fee.

what type of fee/ how much would you impose for a application fee? i wonder how many people that scares off?

| its not just the initial reports anymore, its also the re-issue at the lenders now. they just keep charging and charging. |
