With a primary, it's open to the general public and can allow the other side to create political mischief. Both sides do it.

The Michigan Democratic Party and the Democratically controlled house and the governor basically flipped off Howard Dean and the Rules committee and did it anyway because they've been wanting to do it. So what you've had since January is a game of chicken between the Michigan Democratic Party and the DNC.

Now if that wasn't an already fiery situation you have Clinton who won both those contests(some say she violated the DNC rules in Michigan) throwing gasoline on that smoldering fire by claiming people are being disenfranchised. By Clinton leaving her name on the ballot with excuse, "Oops, I guess I missed the deadline". She won by default. So to make the claim that her supporters were disenfranchised doesn't really fly.

Yesterday's outcome was not a big surprise. The backroom boys already had it worked out in March. Yesterday was just for show and was nothing more than a formality. Everyone in the DNC already knew they were going cut the delegate count in half just like the GOP did. The Clinonistas were the only ones holding out for a full delegate count in August. I believe Clinton's supporters hurt her campaign even further by their unruly behavior at the meeting. It will be over this week anyway and Obama will be the nominee. Regardless of how Clinton tries to spin the results. She can claim she won the popular votes all she wants to but it's the number of delegates that count just like the electoral college does in the general.
