One of the first articles I've seen which is critical of the scoring system.

its about time. people critcize me when i say this, but you really never know what youre going to get. the credit companies arent getting their credit for their piece in the mortgage melt down. 1x30 on a $500 sears card is doing much more damage to a score then it ever did before.

I love it.... The whole credit scoring system is a joke. The rules make no sense. A co-workers grandma is a recent widow... her husband and her spent a lifetime paying off millions in auto loans, credit cards payments and mortgages. She owns multiple properties free and clear and has a ton of money. Unfortunately nobody told her that she is only scored on her OPEN AND ACTIVE CREDIT. After her husband passed she closed all her credit cards and now has no credit scores.. all those years of perfect credit now mean nothing for this woman. How is that for unfair?

Bozos who buy old chargeoffs and re-report them ought to be put in work camps and should not be allowed to 'update' reporting dates. That has a huge impact as well. Some even for debts long ago satisfied. Here's where the $11,000 fines ought to be coming from.
