Meet at title, go to them? Do you not tell them you work from home?
Do you have an affiliate or vendor that might be able to accomodate you?

"Come on over but watch out for the doggies!"...Tell them you work from home as it makes you more available to your clients and keeps your overhead down so you can offer great service for a lower cost!...

I live on the 2nd floor and I don't think they would let me make a door to my home office.

Tell them the truth... my office is located at _____ but I don't
work at that location. I work from home because I find that I can get
a lot more accomplished for my clients with fewer distractions. I'd be
happy to arrange a meeting place that's closer to you or bring the
documents to you if that would be more convenient for you.

It's really not a big deal. I've never had client care that I work
from home.

I have been working from home since last November. On days that I am not out meeting with clients, I often don't shave or shower and will wear just a t-shirt and jeans. The address of my home office is on my business cards. I have wondered how it will look if one of my customers just happens to drop by.

You could get set up with a virtual office that allows you access to the conference room for a set monthly fee.

TMI...your poor wife.

I tell people I work from home all the time. At first I was hesitant, but now I don't care. I've had clients ask to meet at my office and when I told them I work from home, they've asked to come here. Kinda weird.

I started out in a home office and always told clients I perfer to meet them in their houses simply because they have all the documents there. It worked out well and even though I have an office I still quite often find myself in their homes.

I have a home office and work from there on occassion, but now with two kids I really need to get out. I enjoy going to the office and don't know how my wife does it.

I actually miss working from my office in Denver, my Husband also works from home and he drives me crazy, he always wants attention when I am busy or stressed, if he and I are talking, the phone will ring constantly. I hang up and we start talking again, and the phone will ring, he will huff off into his office.

Then I get pissed and again let him know that I work from home, and I am sorry if it bothers him. I moved my office to the basement of our house, nice and cool and more private, now he comes down here and hangs out, if I am typing or responding to e/ml, he gets irritated and goes back up, sometimes I have to leave and drive somewhere so I can call a friend and complain about how crazy he is making me.

He is getting ready to start a project in Boulder and he will be gone for at least a few months, during the day, I think it will be good for us!!!

Ditto, my wife and I both work from home. She is with J & J and I am with Ascent. We are on opposite sides of a converted garage. The only trouble we have is conferance calls. We are both loud as we can be on the phone.

If someone wants to meet me at my office, I ask them to lunch instead.

I do have an office in Denver, so at least I can go there. But if I am meeting a client in Evergreen, we go to the local bar and hang out, Cactus Jacks, everone loves it there, nice patio on the creek, surrounded by mountains, just cant do shots.

I don't understand how two married people can work together. Then they're the ones that drive to work together and work all day together and drive home together. That must be real weird. When we started the company my wife worked with me a lot, now that we have kids she doesn't as much and I don't think I could handle it again.

I totally like working from home. I tell my clients this:
I work from a home office howevefr I can meet you wherever it is most convenient for you.
I feel that I can keep overhead low while offering greater exceptional service; not to mention saving some gas..

..or something like that.

I've never had any issues.

the only problem i have working from home is that my cellphone hardly works here. other then that, i explain that i work from home, on the road, and where ever i can get it done. the clients love it, and it gives me something more to talk to them about. make a friend, make a sale.

I work from home and I'm very up front and honest with potential clients. I never meet clients anymore. Sometimes, I feel a little isolated but the savings are tremendous. No more dressing to impress, cleaners, gas, breakfast, brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner expenses. For that I'm grateful. However, you have to be very careful on how you deliver the concept of being an outside rep. Many applicants are suspicious and guarded.

Last year before the escrow company that I had been using
went out of business, I made an arrangement with the escrow
manager to use her sumptuous conference room for free. I had
been doing business with her and she was elated everytime
I met my customers in her conference room. Of course, I had
to call in to give them a time so that the room would be
available for me. The corporate emblem of the escrow/title
company certainly enhanced my personal image, as people tend
to identify with physical objects.

So, talk to your escrow officer to see if this arrangement
could complement your meeting customers at Starbuck or coffee
shops.

I worked out of my home for a while when I first started ... but I had a real estate license and so I always told my borrowers that I would be "at my real estate office" so meet me there. I also had access to a conference room at a attorney friend's office. If it became relevant, I did not hesitate to tell them that I work from my home office as "as much as I can" and yes, I have agreed to meet a few clients at home if I knew them and felt comfortable having them come to my home. In these times, it probably is not wise to have borrowers coming to your home.
