What is it I don't know about Florida?

Also, why do so many millionaire "Landscapers" live in Florida and want to buy multi-million dollar homes going STATED?

The like the close proximity to Cuba and re-runs of Miami Vice.

In Fl landscapers run grow houses and they are a booming cottage industry down here. The bigger player you are the bigger house you need. The trick is trying to explain to Florida Power why your burning so many kilowatts/mo. So if you live in a million dollar house a solar paneled roof doesn't look as out of place as it would on a 1000 sq ft 2/1 Craftsman built in 1948.

Cocaine is cheaper and you can harvest more grass in a grow house is probably correct.

But then again have you shoveled snow in NY?

Lots of retards (no offense) down here. Everywhere I go I hear another story. Changing my oil yesterday and a guy is complaining the the banks don't want to lend money. the manager of the oil change place is complaining since his wife is a realtor and only closed 1 loan in 3 months.

I am done trying to explain what happened down here to them. I need to have 1000 flyers made up with the average family income of the state (I think it is 46K) and just pass that out and show that how that corresponds to the average house price.

Ain't dat da troof!
My sister lives there and says a LOT of the rental homes are grow houses. She always sends me link about the latest busts. The druggies get dirt poor immigrants to front the rental with cash, and the desperate homeowners let them rent, especially since it's cash. Almost every time they get caught it's from conspicuous consumption of electric.

I lived in Dade County for yrs and you can get any drug in the world down there. Go to the clubs on 11th and 14th St in downtown Miami if you don't believe me. Also Polk County in Central FL is loaded w grow houses as well as meth labs in dbl wides in the rural areas. Over where I currently live Pinellas, Pasco & Hernando counties are full of grow houses that are rented out to illegals.

The foreigners want to buy houses simply because our dollar is worthless and with the exchange rate a million dollar home is relatively cheap.

I think it was Jeff Gordon's divorce papers that talked about the $24,000 a month the guy spent on his landscaper for his florida home.

The euro....plain and simple. plus housing is near the bottom. it's nothing to them. especially for sunshine, great restaurants and nightlife (at least here in south florida).

"Why do foreigners want to live in Florida"

If by Florida you mean South Florida, the reasons are fairly obvious, especially when speaking of wealthy south american business people (and for some anglos, this will come as a shocker to know there are wealthy south americans who amassed their wealth by means other selling drugs).
Some of the reaons, great night life, marvelous year round weather, shopping, beaches, restaurants, etc etc.. and of course south Florida is the gateway to business in South America. Also, just about everyone down here speaks their language, spanish, or portuguese (in case you havent heard Brazil's economy isnt too shabby). Which makes almost like a second home.

Also, in the case of Venezuelans, price of crude is creating alot of wealth, thereby driving them here to south florida to buy buy buy..

Now, why the heck would they buy anywhere else in Florida other than South Florida?? I have no clue..

Jay!

Foreigners are here to buy America's 'future' equity...There are many groups running around with hundreds of millions of dollars buying up properties...You should follow their lead, I know I am!...

financeone, thank you. I was uptight about some statements that disparaged the entire State of Florida. I felt those were very stupid statements and I said so. That was the main point that I was addressing. I live in Northeast Florida and know that the poster, nor his sister, has no idea about the economy or anything related to this part of Florida. I had hoped to get some clarification from the poster by asking for a definition of "there". Instead of getting an answer, the poster chose to call me nasty names.

Oh well, you are right of course. Sometimes it is best to let fools have their say and just move on.
