I am trying to get some fresh blood in my office and want to know if you guys or gals have any input. I have tried some recruiters and stuff like that but nothing good has came from it.

1. You need to have a value added offering. These include:
-FHA/VA
-Multi-State Lending
-Ability to banker or broker
-Leads

2. Play off your strengths and downplay the weaknesses.

3. Once you've got a good value added offering pitch it to as many LO's as possible, hence craigslist, email blasts, voice blasts, telemarketing, etc.

...Hot people don't hurt either.

Walter, you advise that you are a w/sale lender so... are you looking to hire A/Es, admin staff, UWs or are you wanting to start/expand a retail operation?

If w/sale, are you a correspondent or do you have unique and NEEDED niche programs?

On the w/sale side, if you have GREAT products with a top-notch back-office support system then you should have little difficulty attracting GREAT A/Es unless your location, marketing support/promotion and compensation are lacking.

On the retail side, given the current status of a generally "soft" market and higher lender guidelines what exactly are you prepared to offer LOs as a reason to even consider working in your shop? Can you offer FHA/VA? Do you have a REAL lead generation program? Are you hooked up with www.adjustableratemarketing.com as a source of refi leads? What are your splits? Are you willing to provide max support/training of "newbies"? Are you willing to offer any type of draw to new commission paid hires while they build their pipeline?

In short... would YOU want to work for YOU?

1.) www.adjusttableratemarketing.com is a horrible website name.
2.) The website is suspended.

Uhhh..you spelled Adjustableratemarketing.com incorrectly.
So being that - that's not an actual website and leads most likely to a
"server not found error", yeah - it's a horrible name. lol

I know how to spell adjustable. So that was not the reason of the website error. And two that just adds fuel to my argument that it can be a difficult name to type for a website.

You don't see www.microsoftnetwork.com you see www.msn.com

Again, just my .02. The common person has a hard time remembering long URL's and even a harder time typing long URL's.

I'm not going to be enemies with someone because of what they say about another BO member..unless maybe you are talking smack about Racerx or eRock or ClosingPrime.

It just seemed out of left field...that's all.

You should try cereal...it's a really great way to start the day.

Nothing, I don't utilize. But I can bet the next comment on this post will be about SEO. So I think I don't need to worry about doing my research on SEO.

You should try tying a $1.00 bill to the end of a string nad have it sitting outside your office.

Once someone tries to get it pull it away from them, and lure them into your office.

It's not a bad way to pick up chicks either ;)

Drag a $100 bill through a realtor's office. You will have plenty of new employees. Of course, they don't know how to close a loan, but that is okay. They lie with ease.

Wow, this thread was off to a great start, until it had to swing wildly off-topic and get personal, like so many here.

I find that how you hire can vary greatly by your area. For example, hiring in our Minnesota office is night-and-day from hiring in our Florida office. So perhaps research what others are doing and be preemptive, that may help too.

Are you trying to recruit those that failed elsewhere and are looking for greener grass(in their heads) or those that are doing well somewhere?...You method is determined by your target...

Once you get them, a retention based payplan is the only way to go if you want to keep them...

My programmer is throwing a hissy fit and messing with my website...I apologize for his unprofessionalism...
