Many real estate agents are currently changing loan officers. Agents are desperately in need of help now and are looking to work with professional loan officers who can be a resource to them and help them create business.
So how does a loan officer capitalize on this opportunity? The first step is to be proactive in approaching Realtors. But donuts, rate sheets and promises of “low rates and great service” won’t cut it. Agents are looking for professional help. They want to work with a loan officer who can help them build their business; not one who is merely looking for a handout.
When you approach the agent have something of real value to offer. Specifically, create a joint marketing program you can both participate in. The easiest way to do that is to select a niche market; then create a marketing plan to reach that niche that includes you and a Realtor. Present the plan to your targeted agent, come to agreement, then jump in and get started. In addition to the old “tried and true” niches like first time buyers, investors, etc., how about exploring niches like small commercial properties, 1031 exchanges, second homes and vacation properties (a hot niche in some markets currently), or others. For a FREE extensive list of niche possibilities go to www.JanSchrader.com, then click on the free niche list.
These same principles can be applied with builders and other referral sources as well. The relationships you build in the current market will benefit you now and for years to come. For more ideas get the FREE report at www.20trillion.com .

| AS of this morning, June 2nd, there are numerous lenders who are still doing vacation and second homes. You may wish to verify this by going to www.lenderlister.com or www.lenderlab.com. Even Scotsmans Guide shows a few. These wholesalers may be new to you but they're available with some digging. Home this helps you. |
