Seriously, good luck. I just talked to a friend that is a DEU and LAPP she made a move for 78K (and that wasn't the high bidder). You know there is a shortage when the head hunters just call the support staff and not the loan officers. I don't know one shop that isn't scrambling and they can't train them fast enough.....my number one gripe for the past 60 days. Their test cases are on our backs. Not only do we have to endure the "want it perfect for the test case" crowd, we get the real stupid requests or declines we never would see from a seasoned DEU. (I had to email one the HUD memo where they backed off property condition).
Now, we probably have about 12 - 18 underwriters in that center, and till don't have enough. I figure by the time we catch up to the volume, FHA will no longer be top dog. |
