With all the talk about the new and improved disclosures from our wonderful politicians, lets dedicate a thread to spin. The politician gets votes and acolades from implementing new disclosures, that already say the same thing that the current disclosure say. ITs a joke really when you think about it, here in CO we have them sign a GFE (ysp disclosed in $$$) a CO Broker compensation form (outines again everything on GFE) and on top another (lets use Wells for example) company specific Broker FEE disclosure. So 3 seperate times I have to shove this LOOK AT HOW MUCH YOU'RE PAYING ME form in their face. Then at closing I get the HUD, same two broker fee disclosures, couple of itemizations forms, and lets not forget the closing instruction forms. HOW MANY FREAKING TIMES MUST I DISCLOSE MY FEES??? Borrowers that want to get it will, and those who half ass try never will.
Now, lets hear how everyone here likes to "spin" these forms when they come out. A classic GFE spin, "This is your projected loan amount, interest rate, and make sure your name is spelled correct down there (now your arm is spread accross the GFE), and sign right above it." Not my first choice, but how does everyone else go over these forms? |
