God I hate Realtors. Please lord deliver some type of lethal, discriminating form of bacteria that only goes after Realtors.

I was in contact with one (I was assisting my broker representing a buyer) and was told, by the Listing Realtor that they were countering our 50/50 title insurance cost (split between seller and buyer) to 60/40, seller pays 60%!?!?!?!

LOL!

She also asked if we reduce our commission to zero because the borrower paid $500k a year ago and put in an extra $100k, and at the current $620k listing price. the buyer would make zero off their investment. True. Story.

I'm laughing and angry at the same time.

Seller deserves to lose money. Using realtors + over improving + short term hold = idiot investor.

I feel for you, man! But, please don't generalized the realtors! Remember...when you wish for something bad to happen to somebody...it might come back to you! Just, be cool!

I think you meant the seller would make 0 off of their investment...

Tell the realtor to pay attention to her own commission and if she is so worried about the seller turning a profit SHE can work for 0.

I had the same thing a few weeks ago.... Had a full approval 90% one loan Stated/stated self employed through suntrust short cut program 7/1 IO ARM at 5.5%
I felt bad for the client because she wanted the place so bad I was working for like 1500. whatever, it would be an easy file. Realtor calls up and askes me to cut my fees...uhhh there are none left to cut. How bout you cut YOUR fees...he hung up without an answer. Client, on realtors advice, waited for rates to come down and now same rate at 6.375% she is beggin me for old rate... I fired her.

The first time I ever speak to a Realtor on the phone, I notice the arrogance, they just stink of it.

I actually met a nice one today, miracles do happen.

Speaking of stinkin' real-turds, what ever happened to your drunken Zza-Zza look-alike?

Although the bacteria is a little too much, I would agree with everything else on your post.

more buyers and buyer agents need to have the balls to walk away. Its not like there's a shortage of stuff on the market.

Apologies, I tend to get a tad...overzealous.

the next time a realtor asks me to reduce my commission, I will ask the same of them.

"I realize you helped them buy their home, sell it and buy this new one...and you really like each other...but don't you think you should have done it for a max of 1% after the intial sale if you charged anything at all??

Tell the realtor "sure I will cut my commission to 0, when your cut your to 0!"
You know they are going to say "I can't do that I don't work for free!" Ditto!

Just stay cool. Tell them you are a valuable service provider and that you work very hard assist your clients needs and earn your fee, especially in this market.

Simply put that out there and say nothing else, silence is golden -
