A Message from Kathy Jacobs Broker Special Announcement
February 2008

WaMu Wholesale Lending has declared 2008 to be the Year of the Broker! Amid the dynamic state of the mortgage industry, WaMu is committed as ever to Wholesale Lending and to you, our customers.

We have some exciting programs in the pipeline and are looking forward to a successful and productive year. Our emphasis in 2008 will be on loan quality, effectively navigating the changing market, and becoming the wholesale lending industry leader through relevant education and timely communication with brokers and consumers alike.
Here are just some of the exciting initiatives we have planned for the next 11 months:
The hottest ticket in town.

Look for a new-and-improved WaMu® Palooza event program that will cut to the core of current industry trends and serve as a platform for WaMu to communicate with you about hot topics like increasing sales in a cool market, identifying fraud, and learning about WaMu’s product offerings. Through WaMu Palooza and similar events, we’re providing you with a forum to give feedback to the decision-makers at WaMu. WaMu Palooza is coming soon to a city near you. We look forward to your participation!
Behold the bold.

We have an ongoing commitment to broker satisfaction and improving the customer experience. We’re already communicating with borrowers to ensure they understand their loan terms, but in 2008, we’ll work with you to take consumer information to the next level. By informing both you and your customers, we’re doing our part to protect you, our industry, and WaMu. To keep you updated on what’s going on at WaMu and in the industry, we’re launching an informative and insightful WaMu Broker newsletter in the second quarter.

We reward our brokers.
WaMu was one of the first lenders in the industry to reward brokers for loan quality. And we’re further enhancing the WaMu Broker Rewards program so you’ll get even better rewards. Watch for an announcement about how you can earn your just rewards — including access to more loan options for your clients.

Wait, there’s more!
We’re continually improving our product line and enhancing wamubroker.com. Take a look at what else we’re doing in the next few months:
#56256;#56457; Improving loan status functionality on wamubroker.com so you can see real time status on your pipeline
#56256;#56457; Preparing for the expected conforming loan limit increase
#56256;#56457; Enhancing our Fixed Rate Mortgage (FRM) products to include terms up to 40 years and 10-year interest-only payments
#56256;#56457; Adding Loan Prospector® (LP) to wamubroker.com
At WaMu Wholesale Lending, 2008 is officially the year of the broker and it’s going to be a great one! Contact your WaMu Account Manager today to learn how you can be a bigger part of it.

Sincerely,
Kathy Jacobs
Division Executive — National Wholesale Lending
