I am working toward a mortgage broker career, and would like to have a mentor to help me along this path (for questions and general guidance here and there).

I currently work in the insurance and financial services arena (since 2003), and have Texas general lines agent licenses for both property/casualty and life/health insurance.

Thank you for your time and attention,
Bryan

One thing I tend to find few details about is the actual process flow of a loan (in terms of details). For instance, where and when would Encompass or Point hand off to Desktop Underwriter? Is this type of thing covered in any major text or video training (or by downloading demos of said software packages), or is something you have to find out in the workplace? I want to be as efficient as possible, and knowing the technical landscape would seem to be helpful in this sense.

I appreciate the responses.

Yes that would be something you would learn in the office as a hand on training So you could see exactly what would go into the transition from going to Encompass Or Point into DU which If you have a processor would be able to show you..

What can I expect? You can't even spell the word "More". Who came up with your company name? The same people that came up "liek" "cruchin" "suggesstion" "advise" and "besdies"? What a joke.

Interesting how you are thinking about giving up the insurance business and going into mortgages when half the folks in mortgages right now are considering giving up and going into insurance.

would love to assist - I am in NH - so our markets are different - but basic knowledge goes across all states. Been in for 17 years now - great biz - just be ready for a rollercoaster ride. FHA, RD & VA are key to learn - Conventional is a piece of cake -
any of your state housing programs are also advisable to learn up on too

You don't need a paid mentor. There's plenty of help here for free...

I've offered consulting services for 5 years now.

$150 per hour, 3 hour minimum.

In exchange, I dispense knowledge on the subject of marketing, generally, with special emphasis in the realm of direct mail campaigns.
what to send
where to send it
why to send it
when to send it
when your customers should receive it
where to get data
how much to pay for data
when to buy data
how often to buy data
what good data is
what bad data is
who to use
who to avoid
who to run from
theories, templates, examples, strategies, principles, etc., anything related to the application of a good direct mail campaign
no fluff, no inflated claims, no chest-puffing, just hard-hitting, non-sexy time-tested fundamentals.

There also is extensive dialogue concerning print advertising, primarily in newspapers:

Information on:
Strategies
Samples
Timing
Negotiations
Brand-Name building
