I need help on determining child support on a mycommunity loan.

borrower has two children for whom she recieves child support for both.
however one child is over 15 therefore I can only use child support for 1 of the children. The divorce decree does not specify the amount for each but a lump sum for both. i would assume that the u/w would use half of the amount. however i have a brand new underwriter with citi and she doesnt seem to share my views.

should i start going up the chain or am i wrong on this?

I would start going up the chain. I cant see why it would be different.

I'd go up the chain and at the same time contact the court to ask how much the child support would be for just the youngest child...

That is a no brainer, why would the underwriter question that? 1/2 is a given. And she will get the entire amount for a couple more years, so that should make the decision easier.

The divorce decree should address this... I'm sure it's not the first time that it's ever happened. If not, 50% would be the normal expectation.
