Not sure if anyone saw this or not, but figured many of you would like to read it if you didn't! Andy Rooney was on 60 minutes and expressed his "opinions about Society, political correctness, and America. Not saying I agree with him word for word, for I am not as harsh, but I do agree with his overall outlook!

"I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers.. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer . I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, which is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE ?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion..

I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling m e a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later the y could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, p lease, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be fromAmerica and nowhere else

I know you didn't because you wouldn't need to attribute it to someone else. You'd have no problem putting your own name to it.

It's interesting to see that if blacks promote black it's ok, but if whites promote white then they are ****s or white supremacists.

You know me to well! So along that line of thinking, why would someone attribute this to Andy? The points they make are true and I don't think that there is any discrimination to it. I would have no problem claiming this if it were mine. I guess if you are Jackson or Sharpton however, since it is the truth, it would be considered both discriminatory & politically incorrect. Where do I sign up my kids for The United Caucasian College Fund anyways? I'm sure that all the major college's have an affirmative action program for white kids don't they? You know so that my underperforming white kid gets accepted over a straight A black kid!

Well my dad's ancestors were Black and Cherokee Indian, and I think it's rediculous. Maybe way back in the day sure, but this stuff does nothing but help that mentality continue to stay on the "in the box" thought process in present day.

Wow according to snopes Andy Rooney says he would never write or say such racist things. What could be misconstrued as racist in those paragraphs? I guess I must be a racist.

PS I'm white and my boyfriend is not. But I'm a racist.

Interesting point... Well then just like many companies who change their marketing and names to catch up with today's market and trends, they should maybe change their names!! How about Urban Entertainment for BET?

Go create a group that caters to Jewish people and have at it. I as a Black man have absolutely no problem with special interest groups serving their own. A White, Jewish, or Martian organization serving their own is perfectly fine by me.

Its still called The United Negro College Fund, but see what happens if you call a black man a negro! Blacks want to be referred to as African American, but yet they put black on everything. Guess what? There's alot of white people from Africa, my cousin is married to one, but yet they aren't called African American. Why is that? Why do blacks still insist on being referred to as African American even though they are not from Africa? The vast majority of them don't even know anyone in Africa. If you want to be technical about it, we are all African American. The oldest known homo sapien ever discovered was in Africa.

I think people too often confuse Nationality with Ethnicity. I am damn proud to be an AMERICAN!!! Not an African American, or Filipino American, or Cherokee Indian American! My ethnic background consists of Black, Cherokee, and Filipino. There is a difference which most don't get...

A list of blanket statements that cover very complex situations - except perhaps the one about the Boy Scouts.

Example: Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

Well; hand grenades, poison gas, land mines and radioactive material also kill people but the sale of these products is strictly controlled if not illegal. Why are assault rifles and automatic weapons for sale to the general public? Why can an 18 year old college student buy 17 handguns no questions asked? ETC.

I am no ultra PC advocate but that Snopes post is just irritatingly ignorant IMHO

A few other things as well, how about its; Merry Christmas not happy holidays, How about leaving the American old lady's alone at the airport and profile who the real enemy is, the ones who want too run planes into the towers and kill Americans, the ones that can't fight with balls, only with brain washed punks called suicide bombers, killing our brave AMERICAN solders, politically correct retard stupidness. I'm getting started sorry.

All of these things just point out our differences. Remember when it was a big deal to have a black quarterback in the NFL? Now, you just about never hear the term. Regardless of color, they are just a quarterback, black or white. If every black quarterback referred to themself as such, the term would still be used and the divide would be a bigger issue.
