Just got word from my good friend who is an underwriter there that they just shut down the entire office in Tampa, FL.

You won't have a link because it just happened this morning. According to my buddy it even took the managers by surprise. He's going the office to go pack up his stuff now. They are done.

Well The Deerfield Beach, FL office is still open. I talked an old rep of mine from there. If you're going to say stuff like this on a public forum you better be able to source it.

You can't source something that just happened an hour ago. But if you don't believe just call the Tampa office yourself. Trust me the Tampa office is done. I can't say anything about the other offices though.

Did anyone use them at all? They had a great Lease/Purchase program there for a while where the customer didn't need 12 months cancelled checks to refi into their name. Underwriting always seemed extremely slow though.

Tito,
Didn't mean to question your honesty. There are alot of blowhearts on this site that like to talk smack about a competitor or like to spread rumors by saying they heard it from their friend or a girlfriend's 2nd cousin's roommate from college who heard it from someone on a plane who heard from her brother's secretary.

No problem. I wouldn't post something like that unless I knew for sure. I'm really close with the Underwriter who worked in the Tampa office and unfortunately he told me the bad news. I feel bad for him because no one else is hiring. But if you do know of anyone hiring for Underwriters let me know.
